So…what does an epidemiologist actually do? They help answer questions like who is getting sick? Where are cases happening? When did they start? How are people being exposed? Why is it happening?

Then they use evidence to help stop the spread and protect the community. Think of it as detective work for public health. The next time you hear a health statistic, ask: “What does the data tell us?”
