Patriotic spirit is on full display at Meadowlark’s Monarch building, where festive banners now adorn the balconies in honor of the season.

Installed Memorial Day weekend, the banners will remain up through the Fourth of July, serving as a colorful reminder of the holidays and traditions that bring us together.

This year’s display feels especially meaningful as our nation looks ahead to America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. As we begin celebrating this historic milestone, we’re proud to honor the people, places, and shared values that have shaped our country for nearly two and a half centuries.

🌟 Fresh Face Friday + Employee of the Month 🌟

This National Nurses Week, we’re excited to celebrate Lyndi Rumford, RN, Household Nurse in Sloan House, as Meadowlark’s May Employee of the Month!

Since joining Meadowlark in October 2025, Lyndi has already made a meaningful impact. Her nominator shared: “Lyndi demonstrates a strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed. Her patience, kindness, and calm demeanor stand out, especially in challenging situations.”

🎶 Fun fact: Lyndi played bass clarinet in her college band!

💛 What she loves about Meadowlark: “The positive community and friendly atmosphere.”

🌍 In her free time, Lyndi enjoys spending time with her dog, Betty, and traveling with her husband.

Please help us congratulate Lyndi and thank her for the compassion and care she brings to Meadowlark each day! And thank you to Meritrust Credit Union for sponsoring this recognition.

Join us in celebrating our Dietitian Intern, Jeron Manning, whose last day at Meadowlark is May 7! 🎉

Jeron has been a wonderful addition to our team, bringing a positive attitude and eagerness to learn from day one. He shared that one of his favorite parts of his experience was the people —“Everyone…has been super friendly…[and] I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of this team.”

During his time here, Jeron gained valuable insight into the impact of nutrition in senior living, noting that it’s about so much more than food—it’s about quality of life. His understanding of how communication and nutrition shape the resident experience will no doubt serve him well moving forward.

Next up, Jeron plans to continue his education at K-State, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics while working toward becoming a certified dietary manager.

We’re grateful for the energy and perspective he brought to Meadowlark and wish him all the best in what’s ahead!

Help us celebrate our Fitness Intern, Annia Blasi, whose last day at Meadowlark was April 29! 🎉

Annia brought incredible energy, curiosity, and compassion to her time here. She especially loved connecting with residents—hearing their stories of resilience, hope, and joy—and getting to know the staff, particularly through their work with Parkinson’s disease.

One of her biggest takeaways? Exercise and health are deeply personal, and success starts with compassion and truly understanding each individual.

After graduating from Kansas State University in December 2026 with degrees in Kinesiology and Integrative Physiology, Annia plans to stay in Manhattan while preparing for graduate school in therapy.

We’re so grateful for the heart and perspective Annia shared with our community. Wishing her all the best in what’s ahead!

Help us give a big Meadowlark shoutout to our Social Work Intern, Eduardo Barrera, whose last day was April 22! 🎉

During his time here, Eduardo brought curiosity, compassion, and a genuine love for connecting with others. From meaningful conversations with residents to building relationships with staff, he made a lasting impression in a short time.

Eduardo shared that one of his biggest takeaways is how powerful simple moments can be—sometimes reminiscing and chatting can mean just as much as solving a problem. That perspective is one we’ll carry with us.

Next up, he plans to gain experience in the Manhattan area and continue exploring his path in social work (with a possible master’s degree down the road 👀).

We’ll miss you, Eduardo—best of luck on what’s ahead!
