The Memory Advocate Peers (MAP) Program at CaringKind - The Heart of Alzheimer's Caregiving is a pilot program that has provided services to persons living with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia and their care partner for three years now.

This program was created with the hopes of improving the post-diagnostic experience of people with Alzheimer’s or dementia and their care partner through empathy, education, and empowerment.

We share with you today that the MAP pilot program has completed the pilot phase and will begin winding down.

We are extremely proud of all that this wonderful pilot has accomplished and it has been my honor to manage this program from its’ creation until now.
We credit the amazing people that helped to design the program, our community advisory board, the MAP board, all CaringKind staff and most importantly the clients and care partners who participated in this program and the amazing mentors who provided emotional support, guidance and understanding.

Thank you to Geri Taylor (co-founder of MAP), who was our guiding light to learn how we can best help persons living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. And thank you to Jim Taylor and Sarah Walter for their vision and hearts of gold to make this program happen!

Many new friendships and bonds have been made during the time that this program ran, and we hope that this has brought a greater sense of meaning and purpose to all who participated.
