Involves duties of home making, personal care, and non-nursing care to clients and veterans. Prepare meals, perform housekeeping and shopping tasks. Provide companionship, observe client for general mental and physical wellness. Assist client in maintaining an orderly, safe environment in the home. Transport client to appointments, shopping and/or other outings or errands.

Requirements: High school diploma/GED. Valid driver’s license with good driving record. Must communicate well with client and their families, as well as be trustworthy. Prior experience is a plus. Positions require availability every other weekend. Must be flexible and dependable. Companycar may be availablefor use. Fingerprinting and background check will be conducted.

Please help us celebrate the career of Julie Deisenroth, RN. Julie served the patients in the greater Alger County area for 23 years working as a case manager for North Woods. She has logged tens of thousands of patient visits. Her passion was service at end of life and there are countless families she walked that journey with. It is with both joy for her new adventure as a retiree, and sadness knowing we will not have her expertise and compassion that I announce her retirement. We wish you the best Julie! You’ve earned it!

We would like to congratulate Alison Widdis on her recent retirement! Alison has worked at North Woods Home Care and Hospice as a CNA since 1990 and her last day of service was 8/3/23. During that time she has completed over 24,000 patient visits! That is truly incredible and we are so grateful for the compassionate care she provided to the patients we serve. We will miss her very much. Thank you Alison!
