We're excited to share that CORE's team is growing!

Sina is an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner specializing in behavioral health and will be providing medication management services for individuals seeking support with concerns such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. She will also be able to prescribe and manage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including medications such as Suboxone and Vivitrol.

Sina joins Donna Buechner, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, who is also available to provide medication management services, including virtual appointments.
We know that finding timely psychiatric medication services can be difficult, and we're proud to continue expanding access to care for our communities.

June is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month. This often misunderstood disorder affects about 9 million people in the US, and occurs more often in women than men. Historically PTSD has been understood as a result of military service and combat, but it can occur after any traumatic event, such as a car accident, natural disaster, assault, or prolonged abuse.

PTSD can significantly impair a person’s ability to enjoy regular activities and fully participate in their community. Thankfully, there is hope. Treatment options ranging from traditional talk therapy and medications to more innovative techniques like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can help people with PTSD manage their symptoms.

Donna Buechner is a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of experience in healthcare. She has spent more than a decade serving the Manitowoc and Sheboygan communities at Lakeshore Community Health (now Noble Community Clinics), providing comprehensive, patient-centered care across both primary care and behavioral health settings.

Donna has a strong clinical focus on substance use disorders, trauma-informed care, and mental health treatment. She is experienced in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including Suboxone and Vivitrol, and is committed to supporting patients through recovery using a compassionate, structured, and evidence-based approach.

Her practice philosophy centers on treating the whole person—integrating physical, mental, and emotional health. She is known for taking the time to listen, educate, and collaborate with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that promote long-term wellness and stability.

Donna is the founder of Mind & Body Renew, a functional and integrative medicine practice focused on addressing root causes of illness while empowering patients to take an active role in their health.

Ashley is a counselor at our Women’s Residential Facility, where she leads clinical groups and provides individual counseling sessions to support women on their recovery journey.

Ashley is a SAC-IT and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lakeland University. Her passion for this work comes from seeing firsthand how addiction impacts individuals and families. She is dedicated to reducing stigma, supporting recovery, and helping people create meaningful change in their lives.

With a person-centered approach, Ashley focuses on building trust and creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. She believes that healing happens when people experience both acceptance and encouragement to grow.

When working with Ashley, clients can expect compassion, honesty, accountability, and a collaborative partnership focused on building insight, developing coping skills, and creating a life aligned with their values.

When she’s not at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with family and friends, cozy movie nights, and being outdoors, especially near the water.

Thank you to Manitowoc Public School District for hosting the Community Walk & Resource Fair in support of Mental Health and Wellness Month.

We were grateful to attend alongside students, families, staff, and community members for an evening focused on connection, wellness, and supporting mental health in our community.

Events like these help continue the important conversation around mental health awareness while connecting families with valuable local resources and support services. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the event such a meaningful success!
