Meet Travis, one of our Case Managers at our men’s inpatient facility!

Travis has always had a passion for helping others, and his own experiences helped lead him to a career where he can make a difference in the lives of others. He takes a hands-on approach with clients and believes that empathy, understanding, and guidance without judgment are some of the most important things someone can offer.

Clients can count on Travis to show up with his upbeat, can-do attitude and a willingness to help. If he doesn’t know the answer, he’ll find it! His coworkers and clients know him as empathetic, resilient, dependable, honest, and hardworking.

When he’s not at work, Travis enjoys helping his grandma with chores, taking walks in nature, and watching cheesy TV sitcoms.

We’re grateful to have Travis as part of the CORE team. Thank you for all you do, Travis!

Kristine is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has been practicing since 2014. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of settings, but she finds outpatient counseling to be where she does her best work. She specializes in trauma treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), substance use disorder (SUD) relapse prevention, harm reduction, positive psychology, and client-empowering interventions.

She believes in meeting clients where they are and creating a space where they can feel comfortable being their authentic selves. Her approach is grounded in the belief that growth is possible even in difficult circumstances. She embraces a “bloom where you’re planted” outlook and strives to help clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, and find meaningful ways to move forward.

Kristine joins us at our Shawano location on Monday. If you would like more information or to schedule an appointment, call (920) 663-1035.

This week we're introducing Krista, a member of our residential treatment team who helps women prepare for what's next after treatment. Whether it's building confidence, making a plan, or navigating the transition back into everyday life, Krista is there to support them every step of the way.

Krista is currently working toward double bachelor's degrees in Social Work and Psychology while also earning her SAC-ITA.

Her passion for this work comes from her own lived experience. Having faced addiction and the challenges of rebuilding her life, she understands how important it is to have someone who believes in you. That perspective allows her to connect with clients in a genuine, compassionate way and reminds them they don't have to face recovery alone.

Krista believes people need to be seen, heard, and accepted throughout their recovery. She focuses on meeting each client where they are, celebrating their progress, and helping them rediscover their confidence and strengths.

When she's not at work, you'll likely find Krista spending time with her family, hiking, exploring new places, or reading a good book.

We're grateful to have Krista on the CORE team and for the hope, compassion, and authenticity she brings to our clients every day.

This weekend, members of the CORE team had the opportunity to take part in Lighthouse Recovery Community Center's Serving to Remember Volleyball Tournament, a day centered on community, connection, and honoring the lives of those we've lost.

We are grateful to everyone who participated, volunteered, organized, and came out to support this meaningful event. A special thank you to Danielle for sharing her story with such honesty, strength, and hope.

Events like these remind us of the power of coming together to remember, support one another, and continue important conversations about recovery, mental health, and hope. Thank you to everyone who made the day so special.

Meet Ray, a dedicated leader who helps ensure CORE's residential programs are places where both clients and staff can thrive.

Ray creates a foundation for success by leading with humility, integrity, and a commitment to CORE's values. He supports residential staff while overseeing the day-to-day operations that keep our facilities safe, welcoming, and running smoothly.

What brought Ray to this work is his own journey. After 26 years of lived experience and successfully completing CORE's program in 2021, he went on to operate recovery homes before joining the CORE team.

Ray believes clients need one thing above all else: to feel seen, heard, and understood. When working with him, clients and staff can expect honesty, compassion, open communication, and someone who leads by example every day.

Outside of work, you'll find Ray spending time with his found family and his sons, riding his Harley, or planning his next tropical getaway.

Thank you, Ray, for the authenticity, leadership, and heart you bring to CORE every day.

Today is International Self-Care Day. Life gets busy, and it's easy to put yourself last. But taking care of your mental, emotional, and physical health isn't a luxury, it's essential.

Self-care doesn't have to be elaborate. It can be as simple as taking a walk, reading a good book, connecting with a friend, prioritizing sleep, practicing gratitude, or giving yourself permission to say "no" when you need to. Small, intentional moments of self-care can have a meaningful impact on your overall well-being.

When we make time to care for ourselves, we're better equipped to handle life's challenges and support those around us. Remember: You can't pour from an empty cup.

What's one thing you'll do for yourself today? Let us know in the comments!

How are you, really? Mental health isn't just about getting through the hard days, it's about checking in with yourself on the ordinary ones, too.

You don't have to have everything figured out to take care of your mental health. Small steps matter. If you're struggling, remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

If you or someone you know is looking for help, visit https://coretreatmentservices.com/bhs/ or call (920) 663-1035 to schedule an appointment.

At CORE, we're proud to have team members who lead with compassion, authenticity, and lived experience. Meet Tenaya, one of our Behavioral Health Technicians and a Certified Recovery Coach.

Tenaya was inspired to work in behavioral health because she wanted to give back to her community and support others the same way she was supported during her own recovery journey. Working overnight in our residential program, she helps create a safe, welcoming environment where women know they always have someone to talk to, no matter the hour.

She believes recovery starts with feeling heard, supported, and safe. By listening without judgment, encouraging accountability, and never giving up on those she serves, Tenaya helps clients build hope, confidence, and connection.

When asked to describe herself, Tenaya chose: relatable, non-judgmental, authentic, empathetic, and an advocate, qualities that shine through in the care she provides every day.

Outside of work, Tenaya enjoys cooking, baking, reading, writing, crocheting, knitting, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors.

Thank you, Tenaya, for your dedication to helping others find hope and healing. We're grateful to have you as part of the CORE team!

This week, we're excited to introduce Deb, our Vice President of Clinical Services at CORE Behavioral Health. In her role, she oversees Clinical Services at CORE and our remote locations, helping ensure our team continues providing compassionate, high-quality care to the individuals and families we serve.

Deb has been in the behavioral health field since she was 21 years old. While she jokes that she's not entirely sure what first led her to this work, her passion and dedication have remained constant throughout her career.

Her approach is rooted in curiosity and understanding, taking the time to learn each person's unique story and perspective. She believes that compassion is at the heart of meaningful care, and clients working with her can also expect a little humor along the way to help make difficult moments feel more manageable.

When she's not at work, Deb enjoys biking, spending time with her pets and friends, and taking in live music.

Thank you, Deb, for your dedicated leadership, unwavering compassion, and the positive impact you make on our team and the communities we serve every day!
