As you come to our facility, you might meet Kiya. She is our newest PA Student and will be working here until August 19th. Below is her bio! We always enjoy getting opportunities to further students clinical education and wish Kiya the best as she completes this step in her journey as well as her future!

My name is Ekiaah'e Jackson, but I go by Kiya. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I have known that I wanted to work in the medical field since I was around five or six years old. From a young age, I was fascinated by how the body works and inspired by the ability healthcare professionals have to care for others and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. That early curiosity eventually grew into a strong passion for pursuing a career in medicine.
I am currently training to become a Physician Assistant and am excited about the opportunity to continue learning through clinical experiences. I am particularly interested in Emergency medicine, and oncology. These areas appeal to me because they combine hands-on patient care, opportunities to build meaningful relationships with patients and families, and the ability to make a significant impact during important moments in a patient’s life.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading, planning, shopping, and exploring new hobbies. I enjoy activities that allow me to stay organized while also giving me the chance to try new things and continue growing both personally and professionally.
I am eager to learn from experienced clinicians and gain the skills needed to become a compassionate, knowledgeable, and well-rounded provider. I look forward to working with and learning from my preceptors during this stage of my training.

This is Mary O’Brien. She is a Physician Assistant student from Kansas State University’s PA Program and will be completing a clinical rotation with us through July 17.

Originally from Elgin, Illinois, Mary earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Dietetics and Exercise Science from Western Illinois University. She has an interest in orthopedics, emergency medicine, and surgery, and is excited to continue gaining hands on experience while serving patients in our community.

When she’s not studying, Mary enjoys cooking, exercising, spending time with family and friends, and is a proud animal lover.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of Mary’s clinical education and wish her the very best as she continues her journey toward becoming a physician assistant.
