We were excited to once again be part of the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®—the largest event in the country to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

Ecumen St. Peter and Mankato walked together to support the cause. Our communities provide home care services, adult day services, independent living, assisted living, memory care, short-term rehabilitation, hospice, and long-term care. We are proud to be part of Ecumen, a nonprofit senior care provider with over 160 years of experience.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and over 11 million caregivers support them without pay. We walk to honor their strength and to help find a cure.

We've been keeping busy lately!

Our Oktoberfest celebration with the Polka Polka Band had residents tapping their toes, dancing with friends, and enjoying Schell's b**r, pretzels, and cheese. It was a great afternoon filled with good music and even better company.

We've also been working on fall crafts and proving that we really do beLEAF in our creative skills. Our autumn artwork is now brightening up the halls and showing off everyone's unique talents.

To round it out, we've taken a few walks to Sibley Park for some last visits with the animals at the petting zoo before it closes for the year.

As the leaves continue to change, we're enjoying every chance we get to celebrate fall together.

Last week was Adult Day Services week. Ecumen has two Adult Day Programs, one in Mankato and one in St Peter. Both programs bring joy and quality of life to those they serve while helping individuals remain living in their homes and aiding at home caregivers by providing much needed respite. We want to give a great big shout out to the incredible Adult Day Services team members. Thank you for all that you do each day. Here's to Adult Day Services!

We rolled back to the 50's and celebrated our team members and residents at Ecumen Pathstone! Thanks to the amazing Kristin from Scoops Elysian, we were able to scoop up a delicious treat for all of our hard working team members and the residents they serve.

Our fair and carnival season is officially coming to an end, and we don’t care what anybody says—Ecumen Pathstone Adult Day Services throws THE best, THE greatest, THE most fun, and THE tastiest fair in the land!

We’ve been voted the #1 fair by everyone we know! 😉 The pictures speak for themselves.

Unfortunately, it’s time to take down the big top and put away the clown costumes. After enjoying mini donuts and cotton candy for afternoon snacks, we’re honestly not sure how we’re supposed to go back to normal operations…but we’ll try.

She is at it again. Betty, a resident at Ecumen Pathstone in Mankato hosted Betty's Annual Onion Ring Event yesterday, and it went off without a hitch. If you haven't heard of Betty, you might know her famous onion rings. Read on for Betty's story and be sure to check out the pictures too!

Betty and her Late husband Norman owned the popular restaurant in Amboy called Norman's Cafe for 23 years. As a couple, they also were known at local county fairs for their famous onion rings, a recipe they learned from their time at the Junction Inn.

These onion rings are something that Betty not only misses eating but misses making from scratch for hungry customers. Our amazing Life Enrichment Supervisor, Gabby, knew there was a way to give Betty the opportunity to make her famous onion rings right here at Ecumen Pathstone! Four years ago, Pathstone started Betty's Annual Onion Ring Event and with a few phone calls and a few deep fat fryers -we get the whole onion ring operation set up.

Betty takes the lead alongside her brother and sister-in-law who have experience making the rings with Betty at county fairs. Residents from the Ecumen Pathstone campus join in on the fun and help slice and separate the onions. Meanwhile, the professionals take on the job of breading them with a homemade recipe and frying them until cooked to perfection. Lastly, we all sit down and enjoy the most delicious onion rings in the tri state area.

It is always a special Montessori Moment that gives Betty a real sense of pride.

🎨🍷 Paint & Sip at Ecumen Pathstone! 🍷🎨

Creativity was flowing at Ecumen Pathstone as residents gathered for a fun-filled Paint & Sip event! Residents enjoyed spending time together while working on beautiful paintings and sipping on their favorite beverages.

Activities like these provide a wonderful opportunity to socialize, explore creativity, and make lasting memories with friends.
