We had a BLAST at the 8th Annual East Side Mini Open! It is HOOVES DOWN one of our favorite times of the year! 🤪

A HUGE thank you to the East Side Mini Open ☠️ ⛳️ team for organizing such a fun event and giving Healing with Horses Ranch the opportunity to be a beneficiary again. We 🤍 y’all!

Shoutout to all the bars that hosted a hole this year! 🔥 This event wouldn’t be possible without the creativity, hard work, and dedication y’all put into making each mini golf hole so fun and unique!

And thank YOU to everyone who came out and participated! We loved bar hopping with y’all, and getting to meet so many wonderful people. 🤩

This fundraiser means so much to us, especially at a time when we need it most. We are beyond grateful for the incredible support of the ESMO community and everyone who helps make our mission possible.

Thanks for an unforgettable time, East Austin! Y’all are the BEST! 😎

How do you want to show up as a parent, even on the hard days?

Healing with Horses Ranch is hosting a virtual parent workshop designed to provide an introduction to understanding children’s behavior through a nervous system lens.

Drawing from the work of Robyn Gobbel, this workshop includes concepts presented in Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors (her book) and her parent education curriculum.

Objectives
* Explore the concepts of connection, co-regulation, and felt safety.
* Gain practical tools for responding to challenging behaviors from a compassionate and effective perspective.
* Understand how relational experiences support nervous system regulation and resilience.

Facilitator: Michael Ann Starr, LCSW

Michael is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning (ESMHL) who works with our equine-assisted psychotherapy clients. Michael has loved horses since childhood and was thrilled to join the herd at Healing with Horses in 2022. She works with children, teens, and adults, and may be a good fit for your family if you or your child is experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or loss. She also specializes in working with youth showing behavioral difficulties at home or school, those who have experienced a traumatic or difficult event, and youth or families experiencing difficulty adjusting to a life change. When she’s not seeing clients, Michael loves singing, swimming, hanging with her cats, or playing with her rambunctious toddler.

Say hello to Piper!🤩

Piper is on trial to join our herd as a new therapy horse! For the next few weeks she will try lots of new things to see if she’d be a good fit for the job.

She will go through some conditioning and work on getting desensitized to things like toys and pool noodles (😱scary)

She’ll also get slowly introduced to the herd and hopefully make some friends along the way! (Her and Oreo seem to be besties in the making👯‍♀️)

Stay tuned for more Piper content!
