June 12th is Women's Veterans Day 💜🇺🇸

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of the women who have worn our nation's uniform.

Women's Veterans Day commemorates the signing of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act on June 12, 1948. Signed by President Harry S. Truman, this historic legislation allowed women to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. Armed Forces and provided many of the same rights, benefits, and opportunities previously reserved for men.

This milestone transformed military service in America. It opened doors for women to build long-term military careers, earn veterans' benefits, receive military retirement, and continue serving our country in ways that were previously unavailable. The Act laid the foundation for future generations of women to serve in leadership roles and expanded opportunities across all branches of the military.

Today, we celebrate the women veterans who have broken barriers, defended our freedoms, and paved the way for those who continue to serve.

A huge THANK YOU to ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Waxahachie for their generous donation of a replacement wheelchair to our Assisting Hands Home Care training program for our new Red Oak Office!

This donation will play an important role in the training and development of our caregivers as they learn proper transfer techniques, mobility assistance, and safe caregiving practices.
