We kicked off the week celebrating Kobe Bryant and Strange Music Day 🏀🎶
Our days were filled with themed arts, crafts, and cool educational activities 🎨📝
For Monday Cook Day, everyone enjoyed delicious Chicken Soft Tacos 🌮😋

🎉 Tuesday 8/25 🥳
We honored National Hero Day and National Park Service Founders Day 🇺🇸🌲
We learned all about our nation's heroes and the beauty of our National Parks 🦸‍♂️🏞️

🎉 Wednesday 8/26 🥳
We celebrated our furry friends for National Dog Day and honored Women's Equality Day 🐶💪
The highlight of the day was a super fun lunch outing to our local McDonald's 🍔🍟

🎉 Thursday 8/27 🥳
It was all about bananas and games for Banana Lovers and Rock, Paper, Scissors Day 🍌✊✋✌️
We got creative with themed arts, crafts, and lots of fun learning 🎨🧠

🎉 Friday 8/28 🥳
Our traditional Friday Fun Day was packed with fellowship, smiles, and laughter 🤗🎈
We also celebrated National Thoughtful Day with games, puzzles, and the best company 🧩❤️

We traveled back in time for National Pony Express Day to learn about our very first mail service 🐴✉️ For Monday Cook Day, we cooked up tasty Coney Dogs and creamy Mac N Cheese 🌭🧀

We strategic minds and creative hands for National Chess and Pet Rock Day ♟️🪨
Everyone crafted their very own unique pet rocks and learned the classic game of chess🎨🧠

We beat the heat celebrating Blueberry Popsicles and World Coconut Day 🫐🥥
We crafted our own colorful popsicles and learned awesome facts about coconuts 🎨🌴

I would be remiss if I didn't mention my wonderful staff and everything that they do to ensure McHappy is the best day program in the world. 🌍✨

I would like to take a moment to give a massive shout-out and extend my deepest appreciation to our incredible McHappy staff members Lori Cadle, and Evelyn Cadle. 🙌❤️

They do an outstanding job every single week, going above and beyond to ensure our individuals have a safe, successful, and joyful experience at our day program. 🌟😊

I want to highlight the vital work they do behind the scenes to keep our wonderful day program running so beautifully: ⚙️🏡

• Morning Prep Superstars: Before our individuals even step foot in the building, our staff is hard at work setting up the house. 🏡☀️ Every morning, they organize client supplies, plan seating arrangements, and prep sample crafts and activities for the day. 🎨📋 This essential preparation ensures our clients walk into a highly structured, calm, and stable environment, which is the number one tool we have for reducing anxiety and preventing behavioral escalations. 🧘‍♂️💖

• Afternoon Compliance & Safety Champions: Once our direct service hours wrap up, our team doesn't stop. 🕒💪 They spend their afternoons tackling essential state and county paperwork to keep us in perfect regulatory compliance. 📝✅ At the same time, they roll up their sleeves for deep-cleaning and sanitation routines. 🧼🧹

Their hard work guarantees our individuals have a safe, healthy, and pristine environment to return to every morning. ✨🛡️

Our program simply could not function without the dedication, heart, and structure these two ladies bring to the table every week. 👭❤️

✨ Last week at McHappy! ✨
(Sorry for the late update—I was off last Friday!)

🌭 Monday: We celebrated National Bratwurst & Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🐈‍⬛ We enjoyed themed arts, crafts, and education, plus delicious Bratwurst Sandwiches, Mac N Cheese, and Tater Tots.

🇰🇷 Tuesday: We celebrated Korea Day! ✈️ We did fun arts, crafts, and learning activities inspired by our good friend from Korea to explore where they are from.

🦧 Wednesday: We celebrated National Potato & World Orangutan Day! 🥔 We learned how potatoes grow and harvested them, plus saw amazing orangutans in their natural habitat.

✈️ Thursday: We celebrated National Radio & Air Travel Day! 📻 We took an exciting trip to our local airport for a close-up look at planes, walked out on the tarmac, and watched a helicopter land!

🎉 Friday: I wasn't there, but I heard everyone had an amazing time celebrating our traditional Friday Fun Day!

Welcome to a magical week in review at McHappy! From amazing craft days to sweet visits and fun celebrations, here is a look back at our wonderful week from August 10th through the 14th, plus a sneak peek at all the fun coming up next week!

🦁 This Week at McHappy (August 10th - 14th)

Monday: 🦁🏙️ We kicked off the week celebrating World Lion and Skyscraper Appreciation Day with fun crafts and learning facts about the King of the Jungle and giant buildings! For Cook Day, we enjoyed delicious Turkey Club Sandwiches and crispy Onion Rings. 🥪🧅

Tuesday: ⚾✍️ We cheered for our favorite teams on National Baseball Fans Day and practiced the fine art of writing on World Calligraphy Day with creative themed projects.

Wednesday: 🐘🏡 We welcomed special guests, The Clines, who brought lovely birdhouses for everyone to paint and decorate! We also learned all about majestic elephants for World Elephant Day. 🎨

Thursday: ⛰️💋 We put the final colorful touches on our painted birdhouses to get them ready for home! We also celebrated National Mountain Day and Betty Boop Day with fun activities.

Friday: 🦎🧩 We wrapped up the week with our classic Friday Fun Day! We learned about fascinating lizards in the morning, then spent a cozy afternoon playing games, piecing together jigsaw puzzles, and hanging out with some of our favorite people. ❤️

This week at McHappy Aug 3rd through Aug 7th 🗓️✨

We had a great first week of August at McHappy 🎉🥳

On Monday We celebrated National Watermelon and Friendship Day with themed arts and crafts and education 🍉🎨 We made watermelon dolls out of paper plates and learned how Watermelons are grown and harvested 🌿🚜 We also spent time with our friends and learned about loving and respecting one another ❤️🤗 Oh and to top it all off We had delicious BBQ beef sandwiches and Chips for lunch 🥪🍟

On Tuesday we celebrated National Coast Guard and Lighthouse Day ⚓🚨 We colored beautiful pictures of a Lighthouse and a Coast Guard Vessel 🖍️🚢 We also learned about why Lighthouses are important to maritime travel and the role the Coast Guard plays in protecting our countries ocean borders 🌊🇺🇸

On Wednesday we celebrated World Oyster and Owl Awareness Day with themed arts and crafts and education about Oysters and Owls 🦪🦉

On Thursday we celebrated National Coloring Book and Farmworkers Appreciation Day 📚🌾 We did themed arts and crafts🎨 Of course we colored pages out of a Coloring Book and learned everything we could about farming and the important role our farm workers play in feeding people all over the world 🚜🌍

On Friday we had our traditional Friday Fun Day, we had a day filled with fun and fellowship 🥳🎈 We played games, worked on puzzles, some of us colored and drew pictures, we had a great day of fun and fellowship with our friends 🧩🖍️
We also enjoyed delicious homemade Coconut Cream Pie 🥧 😋

It was a fun and exciting adventure this week and we are looking at having even more fun next week 🚀🤩

This Week at McHappy (July 27 – July 31) 🏕️✨

Monday: New Jersey Day 🗽 NJWe took a fun trip up North to New Jersey to celebrate National New Jersey Day! We did themed arts and crafts and learned cool facts, plus we ate delicious sloppy Joe's for lunch. 🥪❤️

Tuesday: Nature Conservation Day 🌲🌍We celebrated National Nature Conservation Day with fun crafts and learning time! We also talked a lot about how and why we should recycle. ♻️🌿

Wednesday: Tiger & Rain Day 🐅🌧️We celebrated International Tiger Day and Rain Day together! We made cool Tiger crafts and learned all about tigers and rain. 🐅💧

Thursday: Day of Friendship 🤝💖We celebrated the Day of Friendship with fun crafts, learning, and wonderful fellowship.
It was a very sweet day! 🥰🎉

Friday: Friday Fun Day 🎮🧩We had our traditional Friday Fun Day to end the week! We played games, watched fun videos, worked on jigsaw puzzles, and shared lots of love and fellowship. 😄🎉

✨ This Week at McHappy (July 20 – July 24) ✨

🚀 Monday: We blasted off to the great state of Pennsylvania and traveled all the way to the Moon! 🌕 In celebration of National Pennsylvania Day and National Moon Day, we created themed arts and crafts and learned cool space facts. For lunch, we enjoyed authentic, delicious Philadelphia Famous Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches! 🥪

🇧🇪 Tuesday: We packed our bags and traveled across the Atlantic to the beautiful country of Belgium! 🌍 Our day was packed with themed arts, crafts, and exciting educational activities about Belgian culture.🇧🇪

✈️ Wednesday: We soared high for Summer Leisure and Amelia Earhart Day! ☁️ We made themed crafts and took to the skies to learn all about the legendary first woman pilot to fly across the world.🌍

🍦 Thursday: Things got sweet for National Vanilla Ice Cream Day! 🍨 In the morning, we did fun crafts and learned the science of how ice cream is made. In the afternoon, we went on a sunny outing to Kelly’s Dairy Bar for some delicious, cold treats! ☀️

🎉 Friday: We wrapped up the week with our traditional Friday Fun Day! 🧩 We played games, solved jigsaw puzzles, and colored beautiful pictures. We also took a virtual trip to Utah to celebrate National Pioneer Day! 🤠

We had an absolutely wonderful week filled with laughter, fun, and sweet fellowship! 💖

🌟 This Week at McHappy (July 13 - July 17) 🌟

🤠 Monday: National Go West Day
We put on our cowboy boots and traveled west! We enjoyed western-themed arts and crafts, learned all about the California Gold Rush of the 1850s, and celebrated Fried Chicken Day a week late with some delicious catered fried chicken! 🍗

🦈 Tuesday: International Shark Awareness Day
We took to the high seas for some fintastic shark-themed arts, crafts, and imagination. To cap off the adventure, we enjoyed delicious, homemade chocolate pudding made by one of our very own McHappy family members! 🌊🦈🍮

🐎 Wednesday: I Love Horses Day
We celebrated our equine friends with beautiful themed crafts and took an educational trip to the open range to learn all about horses. 🐴🌾

🐍 Thursday: World Snake Day
We traveled to exotic places to learn all about all kinds of snakes, accompanied by snake-themed arts and crafts. 🐍🌿

🎉 Friday: Friday Fun Day
We wrapped up the week with our traditional Friday Fun Day full of games, puzzles, and education! We also celebrated the magic of Disneyland with themed crafts and learning, as the parks celebrate their 70th Anniversary! 🏰✨

Welcome to this week's exciting McHappy update! We are recapping a spectacular week of arts, crafts, and food, while gearing up for an upcoming schedule packed with belated celebrations, animal education, historical adventures, and of course, our beloved Friday Fun Day. 🌟

Here is a look back at what we did and where we are heading next:

Last Week's Recap (June 6th - June 10th)

🍔 Monday Cook Day
We learned all about traffic controllers 🚦 and celebrated French Fry Day a little early! We did some fantastic themed arts and crafts, and everyone enjoyed delicious Cheeseburgers, French Fries, Tater Tots, and Coleslaw.

🌾 Tuesday
We had an amazing time celebrating Build a Scarecrow Day 👩‍🌾 and World Chocolate Day 🍫 with themed education and arts and crafts.

🧸 Wednesday
We celebrated Be a Kid Day! 🎠 We relived our childhood with fun games, activities, and plenty of laughs.

👗 Thursday
We celebrated World Fashion Day 👒, complete with themed arts and crafts and education about the history of fashion.

🥳 Friday
We wrapped up the week with our traditional Friday Fun Day, with learning some fun facts about Wyoming, Montana, and Yellowstone National Park, we also had a great day full of puzzles, great fellowship, and games! 🧩
