Depending on your symptoms, your physician may order bloodwork, an EKG, X-rays, CT scans, ultrasound, or other testing.

🚨 Appendicitis: Know the Warning Signs!

What starts as a stomachache could be something more serious.

Appendicitis occurs when the appendix becomes inflamed. Without prompt treatment, it can lead to serious complications.

🔍 What Can a CT Scan Tell Us?

When every minute matters, getting the right answers is important!

A CT (Computed Tomography) scan uses advanced X-ray technology to create detailed images of the inside of your body, helping emergency physicians evaluate injuries and identify potentially serious medical conditions.

🩺 In the ER, CT scans can help evaluate:

🧠 Head injuries, strokes, and certain types of bleeding
🫁 Lung conditions and chest injuries
❤️ Certain blood vessel emergencies
🩻 Internal injuries and bleeding
⚠️ Appendicitis and other causes of abdominal pain
🦴 Complex fractures and spinal injuries

When you visit an emergency center, one of the first steps is determining what's causing your symptoms and whether you're experiencing a medical emergency.

A Medical Screening Examination (MSE) is an evaluation performed by a qualified medical professional to determine whether an emergency medical condition exists.

✅ Reviewing your symptoms and medical history
✅ Checking your vital signs
✅ Performing a physical examination
✅ Ordering bloodwork or diagnostic imaging when medically necessary
