Was a gorgeous day on White Bear Lake 🌞 Residents partook in the Bear Boating program which is a non-profit that offers FREE 2-hour guided tour pontoon rides/fishing trips to Senior, veteran and disability groups on White Bear Lake. We did the guided tour pontoon ride and what an afternoon it was πŸ˜ƒ We learned about the history of White Bear Lake along with admiring the many stunning houses along the lake 🏘 We also saw a family of Loons that came right up to our pontoon 🀩 The staff let us try their Loon call instrument that helped bring us closer to the Loons. Pretty neat πŸ‘Œ We have another group going later this week. A fishing trip and another boating trip is scheduled for July πŸ™Œ

Bear Boating of White Bear Lake, MN stays afloat through the many generous private donations. What a fantastic program. We look forward to the next trip! πŸŒžβ›΄οΈπŸ¦…

Residents took a trip to White Bear Lake to support our Dining Director, Aayah, as she took on the Dining Director, Dan, from The Lodge at White Bear in the Sonida Senior Living In-State Battle BBQ Cook-Off 2026!
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³

There were 4 BBQ dishes that were made (2 from each chef) (BBQ Meatball, BBQ Chicken Wings, BBQ Ribs and BBQ Brisket). Residents from both communities sampled each and voted for their favorite one. Both chefs made top tier quality dishes 🀩

However, Aayah once again claimed the top spot (she won the baking competition last month against Dan) winning with her BBQ ribs (her BBQ meatballs took the second-most votes as well) πŸ† Both competitors were great sports 🀝 Thank you to the staff and residents at The Lodge of White Bear for the great hospitality at this event. We are looking foward to another competition between the two later this year at Rose Arbor πŸ€™

Planting Day #1 (05.15.2026): Seeds!

Planting Day #2 (05 .26.2026):
Potted Flowers and Vegetables!

We completed our planting for the 2026 Rose Arbor Garden season (see the evolution from the first picture to the latter)! The back patio features many colorful flowers that will fill up the raised planters and attract butterflies and hummingbirds 🏡🌼🌸🌺🌻 We also planted a variety of herbs and some vegetables πŸ…πŸ«‘πŸŒΏ One of our goals is to have our Dining Department make a nice salsa for a meal with our fresh ingredients from the garden πŸ™Œ

At the front entrance, our two hanging plants on each side have plentiful light purple flowers that fit our community colors. Also, to commemorate America's 250th Birthday this year, we filled our round and rectangular and bicycle prop planters with red, white and blue flowers πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Brings a nice pop of color to the front entrance of our community. Thank you to all the residents who contributed their time, labor and expertise to bring the planting to fruition. We will keep you posted on progress throughout the gardening season πŸ˜ƒ

We celebrated our beloved resident Irene's 100th Birthday πŸŽ‰ In addition to a display of some of her most notable highlights throughout her 100 years, we presented her with a "100 Year's Loved" birthday sash signed by many of her family, friends and staff. Much love filled the room πŸ’ž Thank you to those who helped put Irene's big 100th Birthday celebration together. Such a special day. Happy 100th Irene πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽ‚

Residents took a trip to the 'ol ball game ⚾️ Had some first-timers attend their very first Minnesota Twins game! Much fun was had by all with many cheers, delicous food, desserts and gift shop finds πŸ˜„ And we won big against the Miami Marlins, 9-1 πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ A special shout-out to the Twins staff for helping make a great experience for our group.
