"Menopause isn't a niche issue — it's a universal one."

Half the population will go through menopause, but what happens when their physician was never trained to help them through it? Years of symptoms get written off, questions are left unanswered, and women are made to feel like the problem is them, not the system.

In a recent Castle Rock City Lifestyle feature, Dr. Aaron Block of The Cove Concierge Medicine explored why menopause education matters, the gaps that still exist in physician training, and what it means to become a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP)—a certification held by every physician in the Ms.Medicine network.

We're proud to see Dr. Block helping advance the conversation around menopause education and evidence-based midlife care.

Sexual health is one of the most heavily marketed areas of women’s health.

Many supplements are positioned as quick solutions for changes in libido, arousal, or satisfaction. But in most cases, these symptoms are connected to something identifiable: hormonal shifts, medications, sleep, stress, or underlying health conditions.

Without understanding that context, it’s easy to cycle through products without seeing meaningful change.

Swipe for a breakdown of the most common sexual wellness supplements—and what the evidence actually shows.

Women’s health requires a more integrated, evidence-based approach to care — especially in areas like menopause, obesity medicine, cardiometabolic risk, sexual health, and breast health.

This June, join physicians from across the Ms.Medicine network at HERmedicine’s Women’s Health Update, a one-day CME experience bringing together nationally recognized leaders in women’s health for practical clinical education, interactive discussion, and live Q&A.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Month reflects the importance of visibility, inclusion, community, and creating spaces where every individual feels respected for who they are.

That sense of respect matters in healthcare too.

The conversations patients feel comfortable having, the symptoms they choose to bring up, and the care they ultimately receive are all shaped by whether they feel understood, safe, and free from judgment.

Better care starts with listening closely, understanding the full picture of a person’s health and lived experience, and creating environments where patients feel comfortable being fully honest about their needs and concerns.

Many patients have come to accept rushed appointments, limited access to their physician, and fragmented care as the standard healthcare experience.

But when there is more time to listen, ask deeper questions, and understand the full picture, care becomes more connected, personalized, and proactive.

Ms.Medicine-affiliated practices are designed to create the time and continuity needed for more thoughtful, relationship-driven healthcare and better long-term support for patients.

For many women, an annual check-up becomes one more thing to check off their to-do list, not something that actually answers questions.

Time is often the limiting factor. When visits are brief, conversations stay surface-level, and the details that don’t fit neatly into one category are easier to miss.

Here’s what that kind of care should actually make space for. ➡️

A more comprehensive approach isn’t defined by one visit. It’s care that allows time to ask better questions, connect symptoms, and understand how your health is changing over time.

Patients are increasingly looking for something that feels missing from modern healthcare: enough time to actually talk through their health.

Time to ask questions.
Time to discuss prevention.
Time to understand the full picture instead of focusing on a single symptom.

Dr. Claire Repine, a Ms.Medicine-affiliated physician, discusses why that time can completely change the healthcare experience — especially in women’s health, where concerns are often interconnected and difficult to fully address in a rushed appointment.

A 2026 survey published in The Permanente Journal found physicians are leaving clinical practice nearly a decade earlier than they were a generation ago, with an average departure age of just 48.

The leading reasons were administrative burden, workplace stress, unrealistic patient demands, and loss of professional satisfaction — not medicine itself.

At the same time, physicians are being asked to manage increasingly complex patients in increasingly compressed visits, especially in women’s health.

It’s one reason concierge and relationship-based care models continue to grow: physicians are looking for more autonomy, more time with patients, and the ability to practice medicine more thoughtfully again.

If you’ve been questioning whether there’s a more sustainable and fulfilling way to practice, Ms.Medicine partners with physicians who want to build independent practices designed around more comprehensive, longitudinal, women’s health-focused care. Women’s health is evolving rapidly, but many clinicians still receive limited formal training in menopause, metabolic health, sexual medicine, and midlife care.

That gap impacts patients every day.

Ongoing clinical education is essential to delivering more informed, evidence-based care for women navigating these complex and often overlooked areas of health.

Our sister nonprofit organization, HERmedicine, helps fill that gap through weekly clinician education, expert-led discussion, and live Q&A focused on advancing women’s healthcare.

For the first time this year, those conversations will extend beyond Monday nights through HERmedicine’s June and November CME events.

Save with code HERfriends26 and receive extended early-bird pricing for the June Women’s Health Update through May 31.
