Today was our Annual WCBDD Staff In-Service! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ

The past year has brought a lot of change to WCBDD. Our team is smaller, some of our services look different, and many of us have taken on new or additional responsibilities. But through all of that change, our purpose has remained the same: supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Today gave us an opportunity to come together as one team, to learn, reconnect, reflect on the progress weโ€™ve made, and most importantly, look ahead.

A highlight of the day was our group work and conversations around WCBDD Future Services. Staff were challenged to think creatively about what the people and families we serve need today, where gaps may exist in our community, and how WCBDD can continue evolving to meet those needs in the future.

There were thoughtful ideas and passion-driven conversations, all centered on how we can continue making a meaningful difference for the people and families we serve.! ๐ŸŒŸ

Change can be challenging, but it also gives us an opportunity to ask: Whatโ€™s next? What can we do differently? And where can we make the greatest impact?

Weโ€™re excited to keep those conversations going and continue building a WCBDD that responds to the changing needs of our community.

Different team. Different services. Same commitment.
Acceptance. Inclusion. Supporting people to live their best lives. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŽ‰ DSP Recognition Week is coming up September 13โ€“19! ๐ŸŽ‰

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play an incredibly important role in helping people with developmental disabilities live, work, participate, and thrive in their communities. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment truly help make inclusion possible every day.

As we prepare to celebrate DSP Recognition Week, keep an eye out for our billboard on Pike Street in Marietta, across from Long John Silverโ€™s! ๐Ÿ‘€

Throughout September, weโ€™ll be using the billboard to recognize some of the amazing DSPs in our community and the people they support. Weโ€™re excited to shine a light on the relationships, opportunities, and everyday moments that demonstrate just how valuable DSPs are to the people they support and to our entire community.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ To all of our DSPs โ€” THANK YOU for everything you do!

And a special thank you to Emily, Kathy, and Cynthia with New Beginnings, pictured with Brandi and Jonathan, for helping us kick off this recognition!

๐Ÿ“ธ If youโ€™re traveling down Pike Street, be sure to check it out!
