For communicators, pushing back publicly against unfavorable coverage can unintentionally give it a much larger audience.

💡 The takeaway? Before responding to media or social coverage you dislike, consider whether your response could amplify the very message you want to correct.

The most reliable way to draw more attention to bad media coverage is to complain about it publicly.

👉 Wash your hands and fresh produce thoroughly under running water.
👉 Cook produce to at least 158°F (70°C) when appropriate, as cooking can kill the parasite.
👉 If you're in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, or West Virginia, do not eat shredded iceberg lettuce served at Taco Bell locations while the investigation continues.

Investigators identified Taylor Farms as the supplier of the shredded iceberg lettuce linked to the outbreak at Taco Bell restaurants, according to two people familiar with the investigation.
