Sensory bins don’t have to be complicated!

✨ With just a few simple materials, you can create an engaging play activity that supports learning, creativity, and development right at home.

3 easy steps to make a sensory bin:

1️⃣ Choose a main filler – Try dried beans, rice, pasta, pom-poms, or kinetic sand.
2️⃣ Add a few simple tools – Scoops, cups, spoons, tongs, toy animals, or a tea set all encourage hands-on exploration.
3️⃣ Let your child play! – There is no “right” way to explore. Follow their lead and let curiosity do the work.
Sensory bins are a wonderful way to build fine motor skills, language, sensory exploration, imaginative play, and so much more—all through play!

💛 Parents, you’ve got this! Give a sensory bin a try at home, then head to our blog for simple setup tips, safety considerations, and all the developmental benefits of sensory play.

Sensory bins are so much more than a fun activity - they’re a simple way to support your child’s development through play. 🌈✨

Whether you’re at home or in therapy, one sensory bin can target goals across multiple disciplines:

🗣️ Speech Therapy: Build vocabulary, practice following directions, expand sentences, answer WH questions, and encourage social communication.

✋ Occupational Therapy: Strengthen fine motor skills, improve hand-eye coordination, develop sensory regulation, and encourage independent play.

🏃 Physical Therapy: Work on balance, core strength, coordination, reaching across midline, squatting, and movement during play.

The best part? Your child just thinks they’re having fun.

Save this post for sensory play inspiration and share it with another parent looking for easy, purposeful activities at home!
