"I didn't realize that life could be like this"

The transformation of recovery is a miracle, and miracles happen every day at The Extension. Our alumni don't just survive, they THRIVE!

"I have been clean 3 years and 3 months. I still have a great job and have been promoted so I can maintain my apartment, my car, and expenses. I have healthy relationships and attend meetings. I also sponsor and live a life of recovery. I'm so grateful for The Extension and everyone that helped me. I didn't realize that life could be like this. The Extension was the greatest thing that ever happened to me."

Meet our next new Board Member: Bobby Cork!

Born and raised in Kennesaw, Bobby Cork pivoted to construction in early 2025 after a decade in the medical device industry. A Georgia Tech graduate with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, he spent ten years in roles spanning product design, investigations, quality, regulatory consulting, and business development. Now, Bobby works for the family business, Cork Howard Construction, and officially acts as a project manager while continuing to wear multiple hats – preparing estimates, scheduling, and dedicating extensive time to outreach and new business. Outside the office, he serves as a voting member for the Dodd Trophy board and has long been active in community service through City of Refuge, MUST Ministries, hospice programs, street outreach, and youth ministry at Christ the Redeemer Church. He lives near the Marietta Square with his wife, Gretchen, and their one-year-old daughter, Louise, and enjoys golf, songwriting, and traveling.

Cork Howard Construction has been an amazing supporter of our mission for many years, and we are excited to have Bobby's leadership and perspective on our board! Welcome home, Bobby!

Program Spotlight: The Extension Inside
Did you know we have a program where our counselors visit Cobb County Adult Detention Center and provide psychoeducation to incarcerated individuals?

We are excited to grow this program allowing individuals to get excited and learn about recovery before they even come through our doors. Last month, our first resident who came to us through TEI graduated!

TEI Program Director Joe McAdoo says,

"The Extension Inside represents a transformative step in extending our mission. TEI has the power to redefine support for individuals transitioning out of incarceration, offering them a chance to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into the community. The program opens doors earlier for the community we already serve and offers healing for individuals who need it the most. As we expand, the program will not only enrich our services but also amplify the positive impact we can have on the lives of our clients and the community as a whole."
