Thank you Representative Seabaugh for stopping by the men's campus yesterday! We are so grateful for representation who understand and join our fight against addiction!
I had a great conversation today with The Extension Executive Director Tyler Driver about the growing dangers of unregulated psychoactive substances and dangerous inhalants often referred to as โGas Station Drugs.โ
I assured him the Georgia General Assembly is actively discussing the public safety and health concerns surrounding products such as kratom, Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC edibles, nitrous oxide, and synthetic cannabinoids that are currently being sold with little oversight in stores, v**e shops, and smoke shops across our communities.
These unregulated products can be just as dangerous as controlled substances. When they contribute to addiction, overdoses, impaired driving, mental health issues, and neighborhood instability, especially among our youth, they have no place being easily accessible on store shelves.
Protecting our children, families, and communities will remain my priority as we continue evaluating responsible safeguards and stronger oversight measures.
