Patel Plastic Surgery welcomes Bethany Villa ‘26, a visiting Princeton undergraduate premed student through the “Princeternship” program. 👋🏽

Bethany is from Fresno, California ☀️, studying and soon to earn her A.B. degree in Molecular Biology 🧬 with a minor in Global Health & Health Policy 🌎. She will be with us for two weeks, and already, she has performed monthly autoclave maintenance, assisted with preop planning paperwork, checked in patients and obtained vital signs, observed breast cancer reconstruction follow ups, and learned about preoperative breast markings. 💪🏽 Dr. Patel has also assigned her standard readings from the plastic surgery literature. 📚 We will also be working directly with Bethany on her suturing skills. 🪡 🧵 ✂️

Here’s to a New Year 🥳 and advance congratulations to Bethany on graduating from Princeton! 👩🏽‍🎓🐅

The Patels continued their Fall Break college trek in Chicago, stopping by Northwestern University in nearby Evanston, Illinois for a campus tour and mini Atlanta reunion with fellow musicians Eli Zelman and Sunny Kim, both students at the Bienen School of Music in conducting and in violin performance, respectively.

While windy—as they say about the Chicago area!—it was another gorgeous fall day, with impressive, clear views of downtown Chi-Town, and Lake Michigan within spitting distance of campus!

Greetings from the University of Rochester during its annual Meliora Weekend!

Dr. Patel ‘11M (MD) returned to Rochester, New York with his family as part of a whirlwind college tour roadtrip during the kids’ Fall Break.

They kicked off the trip attending standup comedian Trevor Noah’s performance at the Eastman Theatre before touring the River Campus on a perfect Sunday with the help of impromptu tour guide, Sparsh Kumar ‘24 ‘29M (MD), a past intern at Patel Plastic Surgery through U of R’s Meliora Collective.

Rochester’s motto means “Ever Better”, but so far this weekend is tough to beat! 😎
