Hospice is a team sport. 🤍

When you choose hospice, you gain an entire team dedicated to supporting both the patient and the family.

Our nurses, CNAs, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, bereavement team, and medical director work together to provide compassionate care, guidance, and comfort every step of the journey.

Because no one should have to walk this path alone. 💙

🌎✨ Empowerment University: Adventure Without Limits! ✨🌎

This week, Spirit Hospice brought something truly special to our friends at The Claiborne at Johns Creek! As part of our Empowerment University series, residents strapped on virtual reality headsets and traveled the world — no passport required!

It's a beautiful reminder that age is never a barrier to adventure, curiosity, or joy. Watching their faces light up as they "traveled" somewhere new was a moment we won't forget. 💛

At Spirit Hospice, we believe that even the smallest acts of service can make a meaningful difference.

This week, our team had the privilege of hosting a Wheelchair Wash at Manor Lake of Bridgemill. It was a wonderful opportunity to help keep residents' wheelchairs clean, refreshed, and ready for everyday use while spending time with the incredible people who call this community home.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success. We look forward to many more opportunities to serve our community with compassion, dignity, and heart.

There’s something special about music 🎶 it brings back memories, sparks joy, and gets everyone singing along. 🎤💕We had the best time enjoying karaoke making another day a little brighter. Sometimes the sweetest moments are simply spent singing together.

Thank you The Oaks at Fairmount PCH for letting us bring smiles in your community!

One of the things we hear most often from families is,

“I wish we had called sooner.”

Why do so many families say that?

Because they did not realize how much support hospice provides. They often tell us they wish they had known that hospice is about comfort, support, and making the most of the time that remains.

Hospice is not just for the patient. It is also for the family. You have a team to answer questions, manage symptoms, provide emotional support, and help you focus on what matters most.

Our hope this month is to replace fear with understanding by answering common questions about hospice one at a time. 💙

Summer may be winding down, but the fun isn’t over yet! ☀️ We loved spending time crafting, laughing, and making the most of these sunny days together. There’s no better way to close out the season than with creativity, wonderful company, and moments that bring smiles to everyone’s face. Here’s to making every season meaningful! ☀️🍉🌻

Thank you Brookside Cartersville Senior Living for giving us the opportunity to love on your residents!

Hospice is one of the most misunderstood types of healthcare.

Many people delay hospice because they’ve heard things that simply aren’t true. Those misconceptions can create unnecessary fear and may keep patients and families from receiving the comfort, support, and guidance they deserve.

The truth is, hospice is about living as fully and comfortably as possible while focusing on quality of life and supporting the entire family.

We hope this month we can bring a little clarity and answer a few common questions about what hospice truly is…and what it isn’t. 💙

The Power of Music in Dementia

Music has a unique way of connecting with the brain. While it doesn’t cure dementia or slow its progression, research suggests that music-based interventions can improve mood, reduce anxiety, encourage social interaction, and create meaningful moments of connection for many people living with dementia.

If your loved one has dementia, consider creating a playlist of songs that were meaningful during their teens, twenties, or early adulthood. Favorite hymns, wedding songs, lullabies, military songs, or music from family celebrations often evoke positive emotions and memories.

Not every person responds the same way, but sometimes a familiar melody can bring a smile, encourage singing, or simply create a peaceful moment together.

Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t finding the right words. It’s finding the right song.
