I stopped buying bag greens a few months ago after learning more about what they can be washed in
I’m not trying to be perfect. That is not the goal.
But as a woman in midlife, I want as much control as possible over how I age, how I feel, and how I support my body. Reducing my overall toxic load is one way I choose to do that.
So now, I grow some of my own greens in an indoor garden and buy whole, organic bunches and wash them myself at home.
It is one simple swap that helps me feel better about what I am putting on my plate.
Pre-washed bagged greens are often processed with chlorinated water. That process can create chlorine related byproducts.
Some of these compounds have been linked to thyroid disruption, hormone signaling changes, and estrogen receptor activity.
And in perimenopause, our hormones are fluctuating enough already. They do not need extra stressors adding to the load.
God gave us one body. My goal is not perfection. My goal is to care for it as wisely as I can, using the natural goodness He put on this planet for us.
Simple swap: Choose whole greens, grow a few of your own if you can, and wash them at home under cool running water.
Small choices add up. 🥬
Choose progress over perfection. One less exposure is still one less exposure.
Do you buy bunches of greens organic now or have an indoor garden?
