"Making Georgia Heart Safe One AED at a Time"
AdventHealth, City of Rockmart, and The EMS Super Store Bring First Climate-Controlled AED to the Silver Comet Trail
Rockmart, Georgia – June 2026 – The EMS Super Store, in partnership with AdventHealth and the City of Rockmart, is proud to announce the installation of the first publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED) housed in a climate-controlled, remotely monitored outdoor cabinet on the Silver Comet Trail in Rockmart, Georgia.
This innovative project marks a significant step forward in public safety and emergency preparedness along one of Georgia's most popular recreational destinations. The AED is protected within a SaveStation outdoor cabinet that provides climate control and 24/7 remote monitoring, ensuring the life-saving device remains rescue-ready throughout the year.
The Silver Comet Trail attracts thousands of walkers, runners, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts annually. By placing an AED in a highly visible and easily accessible location, community leaders are helping provide immediate access to emergency cardiac care when every second counts.
According to the American Heart Association, survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest increase dramatically when CPR and an AED are used within the first few minutes of an emergency. The newly installed SaveStation cabinet helps ensure the AED remains available and operational regardless of weather conditions.
"This installation demonstrates what can be accomplished when healthcare providers, local government, and community-minded businesses work together to improve public safety," said Tom Sanders, Owner of The EMS Super Store. "We are honored to partner with AdventHealth and the City of Rockmart to bring this important resource to the residents and visitors who enjoy the Silver Comet Trail."
The project reflects the shared commitment of AdventHealth, the City of Rockmart, and The EMS Super Store to creating heart-safe communities and increasing public access to life-saving equipment.
The SaveStation outdoor cabinet features climate control technology that protects the AED from extreme temperatures and remote monitoring capabilities that provide real-time status updates, helping ensure the device is always ready for use during an emergency.
Community leaders hope this installation will serve as a model for future AED deployments in parks, trails, recreational facilities, schools, homeowner associations, and other public gathering spaces throughout Georgia.
