Carol Sue (Phillips) Darnell, age 83, of Crittenden County, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, at her daughter's home.

At the age of 17 she was hired to be a belt looper at the Sturgis Pant Factory. She was also a farmer, from cutting wood to fencing and tending to the cattle, there was nothing she couldn't do. The old timers in the neighborhood could sit on their porch and knew when it was Sue bush hogging on the tractor versus other men in the area. They would say she did it the best. Sue was a hard worker but also loved to have fun. She would race home with her night-shift co-workers, aways winning and aways laughing. Sue loved her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. The grands could do no wrong in her eyes.
