Sister Ester Billups Cummings was 73, and departed this life Sunday August 16, at her home in Mullins, SC. She was the wife of Agnew Cummings, the mother of Latasha Billups, the sister of Judy Johnson, Matthew Billups, Betty Billups Corbin, Shirbey Billups Johnson and Cathey Billups Jenkins, the god-mother of Tanya Moody and Carlton Moody. You may visit her family at 1029 Old Kemper Rd., Lake View, SC.

Public viewing will be held at the Jackson & McGill Funeral Home 612 S. Main St. Marion, SC on Friday August 21, beginning at 4:00 pm-7:00 pm.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church 2635 Buck Swamp Rd. Fork, SC 29543 on Saturday August 22, at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Marion Christian Fellowship Church 1452 Old Corner Rd. Marion, on Saturday August 15, at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Devotion Gardens Cemetery, Mullins, SC.

Our cemetery leadership views advertising such activity at a cemetery as inappropriate and disrespectful to other families with loved ones interred there. While we recognize the family’s desire to honor their loved one with a balloon release, we respectfully request that whoever produced the flyer, please edit out the BYOB line and avoid posting anything associated with alcohol consumption on social media with the cemetery's name. This directive is backed by the cemetery owner, Mrs. Jacqueline Jackson McGill.
