We're excited to share this great opportunity with our students! Emory & Henry University will host the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) for students in grades 9–12 again this year!

📅 Date: Friday, November 13, 2026
🕤 Time: 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
📍 Location: Emory & Henry University, Emory, Virginia

Students can take part in a math exam, try fun challenges, win prizes, tour campus, and enjoy lunch. Participation is free for all registered students.

🧮 Choose the test for your grade:

AMC 10 for students in grades 9 and 10
AMC 12 for students in grades 11 and 12

✅ Please register by Monday, November 9 using the QR code for the appropriate test on the flyer. The flyer also includes a QR code for more information. You can visit emoryhenry.edu/amc as well.

Here are two great opportunities for our juniors and seniors.

Virginia Aerospace and Technology Scholars is an interactive online course focusing on NASA's human spaceflight missions. Selected scholars who successfully complete the course may be invited to attend a residential summer academy at NASA's Langley Research Center.

Virginia Earth System Science Scholars focuses on using NASA's Earth-observing satellites to investigate our planet's complex systems. Selected scholars who successfully complete the course may be invited to a residential summer academy at NASA's Langley Research Center

Here is a great opportunity for our 10th graders! The Virginia Space Coast Scholars explore the launch platforms at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. This online course introduces students to orbital and suborbital flight. Selected scholars who successfully complete the course may be invited to a residential summer academy at Wallops Island.

It is hard to believe we are halfway through the first semester! Report cards for the first 9 weeks grading period are being sent home next week, and parent/teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday. This day is a 2 hr early dismissal.

This is an excellent opportunity to check in on your child's progress - especially seniors! Please reach out with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing parents next week!
