Betty Jane Burroughs, 83, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026 peacefully after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Richardson Funeral Home, burial will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM

Ms. Burroughs was born in Marion, SC a daughter of the late Franklin Jackson Burroughs, Sr. and Sallie Marie Coker Burroughs. Betty was born in the very house she lived in all her life until she passed away. She is also preceded in death by her brothers: Franklin “Frank” Burroughs, Jr (Becky). and Stacy Burroughs. She was retired from Heritage Sportswear after 44 years, having worked there since she was 18 years old until the plant closed. She was also a long-time member of Marion Presbyterian Church. Betty loved her family and friends. Her passion was taking pictures of everyone and every place she visited.

Surviving are her niece, whom she loved like a daughter, Nancy B. Capps (David); and brother Thomas C. Burroughs of Columbia; sister, Ruby B. Jordan (Pete) of Marion; sister-in-law Elizabeth “Lib” Burroughs of Marion; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean Byrd Tyler, 81, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the fellowship hall, from 10:00-11:00 AM. Richardson Funeral Home of Marion is assisting the family.

Mrs. Tyler was born in Marion, a daughter of the late Rowland Byrd and Mae Bell Demery Byrd. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, James Warren “Jimmy” Smith and her second husband, Clyde L. Brogdon; a daughter, Janet Smith Little; brother, Rowland “John” Byrd; and sisters, Dianne Byrd Whitley and Annette Byrd. Mrs. Jean was a homemaker but also spent many wonderful years in hospitality for Ocean Lakes and Pirateland. She was also a long-time member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter Pamela Smith Scott (Robert) of Summerville; son, Warren Scott Smith (Stacy) of Clemson; grandchildren Ashley Scott Cummings (Shawn), Mikala Little and Ben Smith; and great-grandchildren Grant and Drew Cummings.

Phillip Edward Tindall, 53, passed away at his home on Monday, October 12, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Richardson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be private at a later time.

Phillip was born in Marion, a son of Patricia Haselden Tindall
and the late Jackie R. Tindall. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Tindall and Kevin Tindall, and a sister, Rosemary Tindall. He was a Pipe Fitter by trade and member of the Pipe Fitter’s Union. Phillip was also a Mason.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Dawn Sarvis Tindall; son, Phillip Tindall, Jr; step-son, Reese Walters; daughters: Jasmine Tindall and Miley Tindall; brother, Jackie R. “Richie” Tindall, Jr. (Michelle); sister, Margie Tindall Moore (Jay); grandchildren: Brianna Draper, Brayden Draper, Ashton Draper, and Liam Cook; and special friend, Colton Griggs.

Patti Abernathy Bounous passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Palmetto Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Bounous was born in Charlotte, a daughter of the late Tom and Betty Canipe Abernathy. She is also preceded in death by a nephew Ryan Thomas Jordan. Patti was a member of Marion Baptist Church and graduate of both Marion High School and the University of North Carolina.

Surviving are her brother Thomas L. Abernathy, Jr. and Deborah “Debby” Jordan (Steve); nephew Tyler Jordan and his wife Casey and their child, Jones Jordan; niece Syndi Andrews, her husband Blaine and their children Dylan and Clark Andrews.

Lizzie Mae Owens Godbold Enzor

Ms. Lizzie Mae Owens Godbold Enzor of Mullins gained her new body during the evening of October 7, 2026, at MUSC Nursing Center in Marion, with her loving family by her side.

Lizzie Mae was born on May 28, 1935, in Mullins, South Carolina. She was the youngest child of the late Albert and Kittie Owens. She shared many fond memories of her youth growing up in the Gapway Community.

Lizzie Mae will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sharon Cullipher (Michael) and Jimmy Godbold; her grandchildren, Jennifer Hulon (Jason), Allison Hasbrouck (Matt), Erin Adams (Brian), Amanda Godbold, and Dylan Godbold; her great-grandchildren, Mason Hasbrouck (Madison), Brian Adams Jr., Lauren Hasbrouck, Jackson Hulon, Abbigayle Adams, Carson Hulon, James Johnson, and Jasper Johnson; and her great-great-grandchildren, Nathan Hasbrouck and Samuel Hasbrouck; and surviving daughter-in-law, Gayle Godbold Kosko.

In addition to her parents, Lizzie Mae was predeceased by her husbands, Hardy Godbold and Howard Enzor; her son, Merl Godbold; and her siblings, Tanie Owens, Solomon Owens, Emma Catlett, Bert Owens, and Ella Collins. She was also preceded in death by her precious grandson, Jamie Godbold.

Lizzie Mae was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who treasured her family dearly. Her presence brought love and warmth to those around her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that Lizzie Mae has gained her new body and is now at peace. Her love, strength, and memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A visitation service for Lizzie Mae will be held Friday, October 9 at 1:00 P.M. in the Sanctuary of Mullins First Baptist Church.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M., with the Reverend Robbie Baxley officiating. Lizzie Mae will be laid to rest following the service at Cedardale Cemetery of Mullins, directed by Richardson Funeral Home.

Opal Honeycutt Hooks, 81, passed away at her home
Wednesday, October 7, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Richardson Funeral home, with burial to follow at Devotion Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hooks was born in Concord, NC, a daughter of the late William Hoyle Honeycutt and Mary Pauline Williams Honeycutt. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ansel Lawrence Hooks; son, William “Butch” Hooks; and her sisters, Phyllis Seate and Joyce Lee Murray. She was a retired Nurse and member of Open Door Independent Baptist Church. She was also a veteran of the US Army Reserves.

Surviving are her daughter, Margaret Karen Ridenhour Martinez Frausto and her husband, Esteban Martinez Frausto of Marion; grandchildren: Kevin Browder and Robert Brower (Alex); and great-grandchildren: Lauren Browder, Ember Browder, Kaydance Browder and Raelynn Browder; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rachelle Dawn Cooper, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Fork, South Carolina, surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 7 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM at Richardson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Burial will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.

Born in Redlands, California, she eventually made South Carolina her home, where she built a life centered around the people who meant the most to her. She was a woman whose greatest joy and purpose came from taking care of her family.

Most importantly, she was a mother. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her children, always putting their needs before her own. Her love, strength, and sacrifices helped shape the people they became. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured every moment spent with them.

Her home was a place where her family could always find love, comfort, and someone who would be there when they needed her. She cared for her children and grandchildren in countless ways, giving her time, her heart, and everything she had to make sure they were taken care of.

She will be remembered for the love she gave, the family she brought together, and the memories she created that will live on for generations. Although her passing leaves an emptiness that can never be filled, her love and the lessons she gave her family will remain forever.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Terry C. Cooper.

She is survived by her children, Wendy Hayes (Michael) and Terrie Lyn Norton (Robert); her grandchildren, Hailey Bussard (Quinten), Cody Hayes (Paige), Hunter Norton (Kaitlynn), and Brooke Norton (Caleb); special grandson, Sevon Nichols; great-grandchildren, Oaklyn Hayes, Ellie Hayes, Noah Bussard, and Cooper Norton (Feb. 2027).

Howard Stephen Fisher passed away at his home on September 22, 2026. He was born September 22, 1978 , a son of Pat and Pete Fisher, who preceded him in death.

Howard will be remembered for his warm smile, his willingness to fix just about anything, and his heart of gold. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with those he loved.

Wanda Hayes passed away Friday, September 25, 2026 at Loris Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Richardson Funeral Home of Marion.

Ms. Hayes was born in Marion, a daughter of the late Clifford C. Hayes and Alma Crawford Hayes. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Sally Hayes. Ms. Hayes was a retired teacher having received a Masters in Education. Wanda was a long-time member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She loved reading and gardening.

Surviving are her brother, James C. Hayes of Marion; sisters, Bessie Hayes of Marion, Mary Bryant of Mars Bluff and “adopted” sister, Karen Blake of Marion; nephews, J Matthew Bryant and Paul S. Bryant.
