So AI or something suggested that I show you all my new kitchen setup 🤣 and I almost posted a picture of a bunch of boxes as a real cheeky response.

But the truth is moving was hard on my body. Putting away my routines for even a few days hits different at age (nearly) 40. These are those precious times where every bit of energy counts. When you can’t slow down, food becomes respite at times.

So I leaned in. Bought the best protein powder I could find at the HighCountryHealthFoods&Cafe and it’s made out of pumpkin seeds! This is not cheating, I needed support, and I got it - without the pressure of feeling like I was “supposed” to be showing you all my perfect setup because honestly it will never be perfect.

That’s exactly why nutrition is a daily practice for most of us - letting go is letting in.

Should have known I would tear up during this provider interview with the Central California Public Health Consortium about maternal health.

There are so many things that need fixing in our systems. And yet there are so many wonderful healthcare providers doing the work anyway. Untangling the policy barriers and uplifting rural voices is something I am grateful to be a part of here in Mariposa county!

🪴And just like that we up and moved across this rural county to a new home, a change that’s been brewing for almost two years: has come to fruition.

Change is hard, and our neurons are hardwired to hold onto shelter - like so many of those that came before us.

Looking forward to settling into this next month with a new round of online group cohort for nutrition support! Such good timing while many of us navigate a new normal together. Cheers to setting routines, growing when it’s difficult, and creating space for health.

🔜Next Online Cohort starts September 2026

Very excited to announce a whole new experience coming your way this Fall. Yes we have had cohorts before, but this one will be different. This time we will each set goals upfront, and create space for accountability in a safe group space. This time our live sessions will be 90 minutes long. A deeper dive for 3+ months. Interested? Let’s see if this might be a good fit for you:).

This Friday August 7th at 12:00, join me on ZOOM for a quick little Q&A and to hear more about this opportunity to join this online community (we will discuss monthly pricing, the layout of the online course, and what to expect if you join).

Please respond with a comment, an email, or send over a direct message with the word COHORT - and I’ll send you the link to join our free info session 08.06.26 @ 12:00 pm PST via ZOOM.

Did you know food cravings and social cravings are similar?

Our brains need community, and crave it, just like we do food - there are just different outcomes.

Chronic social isolation and loneliness are linked with lower physical and mental capacity. This may cause the brain to seek dopamine from other sources: because the more natural social structures are not supporting this important neuro-need. We tend to find a way to fill this void.

Over my time working as a nutritionist I have heard many times how isolated people feel when they are trying to get healthy. In some ways it’s easier to find identity in toxic behaviors than it is in real healthy community. So we have created that space to talk, in community, through workshops where many share a common bond.

My work has slowly evolved into making space for groups over these past two years, as a response to this call, and I have absolutely loved building this alongside my clinical practice.

🌾stay strong people.

My wish is that one day we can celebrate nutrition as prevention, set goals we feel confident to share proudly, so that we can normalize the fact that we are all navigating these food systems together🤝in conjunction with our own health needs.
