One of the reasons I love giving prenatal massages so much is that I get to nurture and support not just one person, but two. ❤️

A mama’s body is doing something truly incredible - creating an entire human being from scratch. As her body changes and works tirelessly to support new life, she deserves time to rest, be cared for, and reconnect with herself.

I love creating a space where both mama and baby can relax together. What mama feels, baby feels. When mama’s nervous system settles, her breathing deepens, and her body softens, that sense of calm is shared with the little life growing inside her.

Today, a client came in for her third session with me and shared something that honestly gave me chills.

During her last appointment, I had a very strong feeling that her husband needed to see a cardiologist. I gently asked if there were any heart concerns with his health. She told me he had just had a full physical and extensive testing through a functional medicine doctor, and everything looked great.

About a week later, her brother-in-law called and said he had undergone a coronary calcium scan and his numbers were abnormally high. He mentioned it can sometimes be hereditary and suggested her husband get checked too.

She told me that under normal circumstances, they probably would not have taken the suggestion seriously. Her brother-in-law tends to worry a lot, and they likely would have brushed it off.

But because of the conversation we had during her session, they decided to listen and schedule the test.

Her husband’s calcium score came back astronomically high.

She looked at me today and said, “Thank you. Your message was the catalyst that made us take this seriously.”

I’m sharing this as a reminder to trust the information and intuitive nudges we receive. Not because we are always right, but because sometimes those quiet feelings are worth paying attention to and sharing calmly, without fear or panic. I want to be very clear — I am not a doctor, and I would never diagnose anyone. But moments like this remind me how important it is to listen… to our bodies, our intuition, and the quiet nudges that ask us to pay attention.

Sometimes awareness alone can change the course of someone’s life.

Yesterday, a client took a deep sigh the moment I walked into the room and said,
“This is my refuge. You are my refuge. Just your presence helps me breathe again.”

This made my day! As a massage therapist, my intention is to help every person who lays on my table feel this way.

Because it’s not just about muscles or techniques—it’s about creating a space where the body feels safe enough to let go.

That exhale? That’s the nervous system shifting. That’s where healing begins.

My hope is that every person who walks into The Enlightened Elephant feels that same return- to breath, to body, to presence…. To peace. ☮️

Meet my newest (and arguably most qualified) meditation facilitator… Toby 🧘‍♂️🐾

Toby, the friendly orange cat, has officially claimed the meditation pillow at The Enlightened Elephant—and honestly, I’m not questioning his credentials!!! With his calm presence, slow blinks, and perfectly timed stretches, he seems to intuitively understand what it means to ‘be’ rather than ‘do’.

But, here’s the beautiful part—Toby isn’t just adorable, he’s therapeutic!

A cat’s purr typically vibrates between 25–150 Hz, a frequency range that has been associated with healing in the human body. These gentle vibrations can help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and even support tissue repair and pain relief. It’s like a built-in sound bath…with fur!

So, hug your fur babies a little closer tonight…. And ask to see Toby the next time you are here! He will happily rub on you and purr all over you in exchange for lots and lots of belly rubs! 🤗

A couple of weeks ago something happened during a Reiki session that left both my client and me completely in awe. For the first time, I felt like I connected with a dog in spirit… and the messages that came through were incredibly specific.
The first thing I saw was the dog’s face with a pair of glasses on. Then I saw another pair of funny glasses — the kind with a mustache and fuzzy eyebrows attached. My first thought was that he was telling me he was both wise and funny.
Well… my client’s jaw dropped.
She told me she actually had multiple pictures of him wearing glasses, including one saved in a Snapchat folder with those exact mustache glasses!

Then I saw the dog walking on his hind legs without holding onto anything.
That’s when my client was really taken aback. She said she had never shared this publicly, but she had actually taught her dog how to walk on his hind legs. Later she showed me a video — and it was exactly what I had seen!!!

Next, I saw two flowers: a daisy and a sunflower.
My client immediately said, “Oh my gosh… that’s my dad.”
Her dad had once wanted to name her Daisy, and when she was little they planted sunflower seeds together. The sunflowers grew so huge and tall that her dad eventually had to cut them down — and it’s one of her most vivid memories with him. 🌻

Then the song “I’m Like a Bird” by Nelly Furtado popped into my mind.
Here’s where it gets even more amazing.
Before he passed, my client had asked her dog to come through to her as an eagle. When we watched the music video for that song later, it actually zooms in on an eagle.
When we looked up the meaning of the song, it talked about choosing between a deep love that feels like it might hold you back and the desire for freedom and independence.
And that hit us both…..

When my client first came to see me last summer, she was struggling with exactly that. Her dog was getting older and needed more care, and she loved him so much that she was willing to put parts of her life on hold just to be there for him.
We were both completely speechless reading the meaning of the song.

Honestly, this was one of the most memorable Reiki sessions I’ve ever given. It felt like I truly met her dog — and I was actually sad that I never got to meet him in person before he passed.

Experiences like this remind me that animals communicate with us in spirit just like humans do. The love and connection never really go away.

And moments like this are why I feel so honored to do this work. 🐾❤️🙌🏻🪽

About 10 years ago, I played an April Fool’s joke on my massage clients… and it kind of backfired on me. 😅

I sent out an email with the subject line:
“I’m moving from New Jersey to Florida.”

When you opened the email, it said APRIL FOOLS!!!

Years later I discovered that quite a few people only read the subject line… and never opened the email. 🤣

So apparently for a while there were people out there who thought I had moved away!

Thankfully, 10 years later, the practice is still going strong and I’m still right here. I guess the joke worked out after all. 💆‍♀️

Thanks to all of my amazing clients who have supported this journey over the years. I appreciate you more than you know. ❤️
