If the holiday decorations are already showing up in stores (they are), it’s okay to start thinking about the months ahead.

You walk into the store for school supplies or Halloween decorations, and there they are – Christmas trees, menorahs, ornaments, and twinkling lights. For many families caring for a loved one with dementia, this is also the moment another thought quietly arrives: “How are we going to do the holidays this year?” If you’re asking yourself that question, you’re not alone.

The holidays can be beautiful, but they can also bring new challenges for someone living with dementia, and for the family members who love them. Starting the conversation early can help everyone feel more prepared, more present, and less overwhelmed when the season arrives.

Last week, we celebrated National Watermelon Day with a refreshing and creative experience our residents absolutely loved! ☀️🍉

Our residents enjoyed watching our talented chef transform an ordinary watermelon into a beautiful edible masterpiece right before their eyes. From the carving process to the final creation, it was a fun opportunity to enjoy a little culinary artistry and see just how creative you can get with this summertime favorite! And, of course, we couldn’t celebrate Watermelon Day without enjoying the star of the show! 🍉 Our residents happily indulged in fresh, juicy watermelon as their afternoon snack, making the perfect refreshing treat for a hot summer day.

This week at Artis Senior Living of Evesham, we received a truly heartfelt gift and a beautiful reminder of the lasting bonds we share with our residents and their families.

The family of one of our former residents lovingly handcrafted a quilt using cherished fabrics from her home. This labor of love took more than six months to create, and they gifted it to us as a thank-you for the compassion, kindness, and care we showed their beloved sister.

We are deeply honored and incredibly grateful for this meaningful gift. ❤️

What does welcoming a new neighbor look like at Artis Senior Living of Evesham? ❤️

It looks like a day filled with laughter, new friendships, and personalized moments.This week, we welcomed Beverly to our Kirby Mill neighborhood! She enjoyed a special luncheon featuring one of her favorite meals.. burgers and had the opportunity to meet some wonderful new friends.

She also joined in on a friendly game of bowling. Although she admitted she was "never very good at it," she had a great time and loved every minute of the fun!

As an animal lover, Beverly also enjoyed spending time with our very own bunny, Valentino.

As we got to know Beverly, we learned how much joy she found in having a Christmas tree up year-round at her son's house. Knowing how special that tradition is to her, we surprised her with a Christmas tree in her suite, decorated with ornaments celebrating her favorite team (The Eagles.. of course!)...because, as she'll proudly tell you, "I'm their number one fan!" Welcome home, Beverly! We're so happy you're part of the Artis family. 💙
