September is Newborn Screening Awareness Month!

Every baby born in Michigan receives a newborn screen shortly after birth. This quick and important test helps identify certain health conditions early, when treatment can make the biggest difference.

The Region 1 Perinatal Quality Collaborative invites you to attend an in-person “Perinatal Loss: Clinical and Supportive Care” training from Postpartum Support International this fall in Marquette.

TRAINING DETAILS:

🩺Who: Any professional who works with the perinatal population, including birth workers, therapists, nurses, OB/gyns, family doctors, pediatricians, midwives, physician assistants, nurse-practitioners, doulas, social workers, home visitors, lactation consultants, acupuncturists, etc.

📋Cost: $500 per person ($400 for students) with some partial scholarships available. Special rates available at Superior Stay Hotel for overnight lodging.

📝CEUs: Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors and Occupational Therapists: 13.5. Physicians: 12.

📍Where: Marquette, MI at the Northern Michigan University Northern Center

🕓When: October 26 and 27, 2026
