The Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center (UPRBC) is the sole provider of blood products to all Upper Peninsula hospitals.

Please join us in celebrating Richard "Dick", who has donated more than 105 units of O-negative blood through the UP Regional Blood Center!

As a universal donor, Dick's blood can be given to patients of any blood type in emergency situations, making every donation especially valuable. For more than 105 donations, he has shown up every eight weeks, knowing just how important his blood is to patients throughout our community.

Just imagine the number of lives he has impacted through his dedication and generosity. His commitment to helping others is truly inspiring, and we are incredibly grateful for the difference he continues to make.

This is Mary, proudly representing the women at the blood center! 💜

Meet Brad — one of our incredibly dedicated platelet donors. 💛

Donors like Brad are essential to helping us meet the daily platelet needs of 12 hospitals across the Upper Peninsula. Right now, every single day is a challenge to maintain the supply needed for patients facing cancer treatments, trauma, surgeries and other serious medical conditions.

Platelet donation takes a special kind of person. While a donation can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1½ hours, the impact can be lifesaving.

Recently, we’ve lost many of our regular platelet donors due to illness, aging and other unforeseen circumstances, which means the need for new donors has never been greater.

Brad’s commitment is making a difference, and we hope his milestone inspires others to consider giving the gift of time and hope through platelet donation.

Today we’re celebrating someone who truly embodies what it means to give back. As Director of the UP Regional Blood Center, he has reached an incredible milestone of 525+ blood donations—that’s more than 65 gallons of blood donated over time.

It’s hard to even comprehend how many lives have been touched, supported and saved through that level of generosity. He leads by example every single day, always ready to step up, lend a hand and make a difference in our community.
