Behind the Dream.
This morning reminded me that some of life's greatest lessons stay with us forever.
One came from a quote by Barack Obama.
The other came from my late brother, Mark.
The message was the same...
Never stop asking why.
Curiosity has shaped my life more than almost anything else. It's why I became a therapist, why I continue learning, and why CDT is always growing and evolving.
The moment we think we know everything, we stop growing.
So today, I'll leave you with one question:
What are you curious about?
Keep exploring.
Keep dreaming.
And never stop asking why.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t actually doing the thing. It’s getting yourself started, staying with it, or finding enough momentum to keep going.

Body doubling is simply having another person present while you work on something. They don’t necessarily need to help or even talk to you. Sometimes, another person’s presence provides just enough external structure, accountability, or stimulation to help you get moving.

It might look like:
• Sitting next to someone while you both work
• Calling a friend while you clean or tackle errands
• Doing paperwork while someone else is in the room
• Working alongside someone virtually

Body doubling is commonly talked about as an ADHD strategy, but it can be helpful for anyone who finds that motivation and focus come a little easier when someone else is around.

It’s not about being incapable of doing things on your own. Sometimes, we simply work better with a little external support.

If you’ve ever thought, “Why is this so much easier when someone is here?” — this might be why.

Behind the Dream ✨
I recently read an opinion piece that challenged something I think about every day as a therapist.
The title was Obsessing About Our Mental Health Is Part of Our Mental Health Problem.
At first, it caught me off guard.
But after sitting with it, I found myself asking a different question...
Are we talking about mental health in the most helpful way?
The conversation around mental health has changed for the better. More people are reaching out. More people know they’re not alone. That’s something worth celebrating.
But awareness is only the beginning.
Healing also means learning skills, building resilience, reconnecting with what matters most, and creating a life that feels meaningful, even when life isn’t easy.
At Caught Dreamin’ Therapy, that’s the conversation we want to keep having.
We’re not just interested in talking about mental health.
We’re interested in helping people build it.
What are your thoughts? Do you think we’ve changed the way we talk about mental health over the last decade? I’d love to hear your perspective.
The dream continues. 🐦‍⬛

Episode 25. Behind the Dream.
The best compliment I can receive isn't that someone stayed in therapy forever.
It's hearing they're out there living the life they worked so hard to create.
That's the dream.

Episode 24. Behind the Dream.
Adventure looks different for all of us.
For me, it's dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and chasing the edge of what I think I can do.
Because every time I move my body, I find my way back to the present moment.
Where do you find yours?

Every child deserves a space to feel understood. 💚
Kids experience big emotions, and sometimes they need a little extra support learning how to navigate them. Whether your child has been through something difficult, is struggling with behavior, or simply has a hard time communicating their feelings, therapy can make a world of difference.

Beth is now accepting new clients and would love to be that safe, supportive space for your child. 🌸
