I do enjoy being on my hands; however, there is nothing like finding peace in my own skin after an eating disorder and getting so caught up in a messy life to stay on track with my health. I had such an unhealthy relationship with my body from an early age, and this is a gift I wish I would have learned decades sooner.

Too many people are not just physically tired, but living with nervous systems that are completely overwhelmed.

We live in a society surrounded by constant stimulation and distractions that leaves our nervous systems stressed and stuck in survival mode.

Practices like yoga, breathwork, and meditation help the body move from the symphathetic system (fight or flight response) where we get stuck to the parasympathetic system (rest and digest).

Sometimes the first step in healing is to slow down and allow the body to finally feel safe enough to simply relax.

I love practicing yoga in the morning as it helps set the tone for my day. 🖤

When you focus on your breath and listening to the physical sensations you are creating through the poses, your mind will stop wandering to the past or future, allowing you to find deep mental clarity and peace in the current moment.

Now that retirement came a little earlier than anticipated, it seems like a great time to start offering more yoga classes during the week. I previously checked into doing classes at Harlan Hall, but I am open to suggestions! I even thought about just using the backyard and letting the Chickies out afterwards! 😂

I’m tentatively thinking about offering a morning class or two (8 or 9 AM), a 4 or 5 PM evening class, and maybe a 6:30 or 7 PM Yin class (Great to help you sleep!). I would love to do Children’s yoga and a Chair yoga class, but those would probably be offered on site.

I am open to any and all suggestions! My goal will always be to find ways to introduce yoga to anyone with any level of interest and any level of mobility because I believe so strongly in the benefits. 🖤🧘🏻‍♀️🖤

On a completely random note, I just made the best Smoked Gouda with Bacon and Jalapeños sourdough bread, and it’s my favorite combo yet! I have a very happy hubby! 😂
