Can we get a hallelujah!!!

Philanthropist Melinda French Gates will expand her giving to improve women’s health globally, pledging another $215 million to support contraceptive access and maternal care, as well as initiatives aimed at middle-aged women, including further study of menopause.

The new funding announced Thursday pushes French Gates’ donations for women’s health over $600 million in the past two years.

What you won’t find in the classes? Joy is not very good at the breathing and the meditation part of yoga… 🤷🏻‍♀️ At least I’m honest! 😉

I DIDN’T WANT TO workout this morning. 😩 The debate was going on in my head…

“OH, you can skip today.” 🤦🏻‍♀️

“Just do a harder one tomorrow.” 🤥

“I didn’t sleep well, so I should skip.” 🙄

Blah, blah, blah.😑

But, after the guilt sets in, I do in anyways. 😉

And now that it’s over, I feel great! 😅

That’s how you get addicted.

That feeling of accomplishing something great, especially after almost not doing it - you can get addicted to that feeling.

And it wouldn’t have matter what kind of workout I did, anything would have been better than nothing.

Most of the time, I tell myself…

“Just do an easy workout.”

And usually just a few minutes in, the energy kicks in! And I can do a full, hard workout. Most of the time. Not always. And that’s ok!

Today, I did my sprint intervals…And a strength session! 🏃 🏋️‍♂️👏🏻

Now, the cool down - the walk home. 🏠

Get out there today - and just tell yourself to do “something”.

Move your body. 🕺

WOMEN’S LIBERATION!? This is just one example of how we fell into a world of fast food.

Women started to go to work outside of the home, and instead of pushing families to work together to make healthy food at home; the food giants decided to push ultra-processed, extremely addictive, food-like meals for convenience and created a massive explosion of profit for them.

This was the start of our unhealthy food choices, eliminated the family meal-time, and told women that this was their way out.

Now, we fight obesity, disease, and shorter health spans.

The solution? No, they didn’t push to going back to healthy family meals at home. Instead they said, let’s just medicate them…

Profitable for the food giants.

Profitable for the pharmaceutical companies.

Devastating for us.

We can blame everyone else for all of this, but we collectively need to wake-up and put an end to the tyranny.

Stop buying it and they’ll shift.

It’s our only way out….

Get mad because we’ve been manipulated.

It’s time to make change.

GREEK BOWL SEASON! Yep, it’s that time of year again. 😋🥗

Prep the ingredients and store in the fridge separately. Easy made meals for a busy summer!

Ingredients: (as always, make substitutions as needed)

🥣 Chickpeas
🥣 Shelled edamame
🥣 Brown rice, quinoa, garlic 🧄 combo
🥣 Mixed fermented olives 🫒
🥣 Red onion 🧅
🥣 Cucumbers 🥒
🥣 Mixed cherry tomatoes 🍅
🥣 Prepared hummus + red wine vinegar (for the dressing)

I did add some grilled chicken as well!

It’s what’s for supper this coming week….

This is always a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating.

Protein!
Fiber!
Whole foods!
Tasty!

Well, it’s too stinkin’ late now…. 🤷🏻‍♀️ No easy way to say it.

But, you know what it isn’t too late for?😳

How about….
Feeling good?
More energy?
Sleeping better?
Getting healthier?
Working on balance and mobility?
Increasing strength?

There are many things that you can still do to make this summer the best you’ve had!

Stop the excuses.

FOOD PREPPING yesterday means easy, ready-made meals today! 🥣

I made this mushroom & bean soup and it’s going to hit the spot tonight!

Your meals don’t need to be fancy.

This is a basic bean soup with added mushrooms and vegetables. Nothing extravagant but oh so tasty because of seasonings and herbs! 😋

I count 12 different plants - which means high fiber and gut-loving. 💕

Many people underestimate the power of plant proteins. I like to remind clients that there is not one expert or research study that says someone will live to 100 with a healthy “health span” by eating tons of animal proteins. All research points to more plants for longevity….

Add in more plant proteins today!
