Today we had a lot of fun making a back to school craft! Our residents loved making these and talking about school memories! ✏️

Mother nature thought she was going to get the best of us. Although several people decided not to brave the weather those that did were pleasantly surprised as the clouds cleared and we were blessed with a beautiful day. We had three awards in the women's and the men's division. Our first place winner in the men's division was Miles from the Marshall area high school and he actually ran the race twice for a total of 6.4 miles and still came in first place. On the ladies division it was Boulder Creek:s own "Zee". Congratulations to everyone who ran or walked the race on behalf of dementia awareness. We must ALL remember just by the grace of God it is not me. Currently one and six people have or will get dementia by 2050 it will be one and three. Early onset dementia is becoming more and more prevalent and has been seen in people as early as 30 years old. This is the journey that you and your loved ones do not have to take alone. There's resources and support available. Call any of your local facilities, the A.C.E of SW MN - Lyon County, the Marshall area Adult Community Center, or the Marshall Area Dementia Awareness Network / ACT on Alzheimer's Marshall

As we wrap up August, we wanted to do one last summer flower craft. Our residents are our sunshine so we made sunflowers today! We had a lot of fun with these and it gave us a chance to chat about gardening, being outside, and flowers we love! 🌻

BOULDER CREEK FAMILY FUN DAY 2026!
What a wonderful day of fun, family, laughter, and community!  The day started with our 5K Fun Run and Memory Walk followed by an afternoon packed with carnival games, a raffle, live music by Guy & Guitar, and a delicious lunch!  All proceeds from this event will be split between the Boulder Creek Activities Department and the Marshall Area Dementia Network helping to support meaningful activities & dementia awareness in our community.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our amazing staff & volunteers who gave their time, energy & hearts to make this meaningful event such a tremendous success! We couldn’t have done it without all of you! THANK YOU to everyone who came out to participate and support us. Together, we made memories, made a difference, and had a whole lot of fun! 💜

Boulder Creek Fun Run Dress Code:
Dress Comfortable
Dress in Purple if you have it, but not necessary.
Dress a little crazy if you want!
Dress safely and so it is servicable
Dress so it is family friendly
Dress for Fun!
T-shirts are not available for purchase day of race. They can be ordered from Western Print Group in downtown Marshall if you really want one of the shirts the staff are wearing.

The Boulder Creek Family Fun Day Raffle cakes are looking absolutely delicious this year. They are just six of the many items we have to raffle off this year. It's so exciting! Raffle tickets are $1 each. All proceeds will be split between the Boulder Creek activities and the Marshall Area Dementia Awareness Network / ACT on Alzheimer's Marshall .
