Beyond financial impact, donors of all ages help us support program and service needs. We believe donations have a ripple affect in our community. We are really looking forward to this! Art, creativity, and stories are great for mental and emotional health. It aids in emotion regulation, reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, and helps to build resilience.

This week we honor the bravery and sacrifice of our law enforcement partners here in Marshalltown and the Marshall County Sheriff’s office. We recognize the trust and accountability law enforcement must maintain with our communities. We’ve witnessed the complex challenges of modern policing, from technology to societal issues, particularly in our collaboration through MPACT. We see the importance of public support for officers and their families, including youth mentoring, neighborhood policing, and open dialogue. YSS of Marshall County remains thankful for our public safety and law enforcement partners.

The Arts + Culture Alliance invites you to slow down, reflect, and connect during an inspiring evening designed to bring our community together through storytelling and meaningful conversations.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, join us for Studio Stories, featuring Zachariah Thompson of The Scatter Joy Project, artist Blake Kasemeier, and YSS alum Maranda Earley as they share personal stories of growth, healing, and community.

Our 1st series challenge coins have arrived! Traditionally, these coins are presented to prove membership or to show exclusive partnership with a specific group. Dating back to World War I, challenge coins would also represent a special achievement, purpose, or accomplishment. Detailed with logos from YSS, 911 Emergency communications center, the Marshalltown Police Department, and MPACT, these coins are available for a $10.00 minimum purchase. Funds raised will go right back into MPACT to help support the unique needs of the program. This could be food cards for those placed in emergency hotel stays, fuel cards to get people to sources of support, or other needs that are not covered by our program’s funding streams. This coin was limited to a production of 100. Purchase yours at Hellberg’s Jewelers in downtown Marshalltown during their regular store hours, Monday-Friday 10-5:00 or Saturdays from 10-1:00.
