What Choice Are You Teetering On?
Choice by choice, we are becoming.

As I lay awake in the dark for hours last night, my mind kept returning to one simple yet profound word.

Choices.

The daily choices we make.
The things we feed.
The things we nurture.
The things we allow to grow.

Recently, I have watched something beautiful unfold at Mended Souls.

One client shared a lovely review about her experience in my Head/Scalp Sanctuary.

But she didn’t stop there.

She shared her experience with others.
She spoke highly of it.

She chose to speak life.

Now, one after another, women are scheduling and telling me, “April spoke so highly of this experience.”

I found myself sitting with that.

One person. One choice. One decision to speak positively.

And look at the ripple effect.

It reminded me that our lives are often shaped not by one grand moment…

…but by the small choices we make repeatedly over time.

The thoughts we rehearse. The words we speak. The habits we form. The perspectives we choose.

Little by little, those choices become part of who we are.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Years ago, I made a personal choice to stop eating red meat.
Not because everyone should. Not because it was right for everyone.
It was simply a choice I made for myself.
And in 28 years, I have never knowingly veered.
Why?
☆ Because once I made the decision, I stopped negotiating with myself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Then another memory surfaced.

Years ago, I was given a full-ride opportunity to attend college.

I didn’t go.

Not because I lacked intelligence. Not because I wasn’t capable.

I didn’t go because accepting that opportunity meant taking a required speech class.

At that time, the thought of standing in front of people and speaking felt impossible.

My nervous system… my thinking… my fear…
simply would not allow it.

Fear made the choice for me.

NOW.....Fast forward many years.

I wrote and published my book, Sawubona: My 1989 Extraterrestrial Abduction.

Then came an unexpected opportunity.

I was invited to be a keynote speaker for a UFO research group.

Immediately, that old voice returned.

“Hey....Newsflash....Remember… you don’t do public speaking.”

For just a brief moment, the old version of me spoke.

Then I made a new choice.

Oh....Yes. I do!

I decided not only would I share my story… I would do so with passion, purpose, and focus.

For that hour, I would bring that audience into my world.

And to my surprise…

I loved it.

That experience taught me something profound.

Sometimes the life waiting for us exists just beyond the fears, limitations, and old stories we have told ourselves.

Science tells us our brains create pathways around repeated thoughts and behaviors.

What we think repeatedly becomes stronger.

What we practice becomes more automatic.

Fear grows when fed.
But so does courage.

Negativity grows.
But so does gratitude.

What we feed grows.

That experience also taught me something else.

We are not obligated to remain who we once were.

Sometimes we hold onto outdated versions of ourselves far longer than we should.

The fearful version.
The insecure version.
The wounded version.

The version shaped by old pain, limiting beliefs, or stories we quietly accepted as truth.

But growth often requires us to release old identities that no longer serve us.

To make peace with who we were… while giving ourselves permission to become someone new.

That truth has shaped the way I now see life.

As I move forward, I am purposefully directing my life toward the version of myself that is expansive.

The version willing to keep growing.

Keep learning.
Keep serving.
Keep healing.

Keep saying yes to new experiences.

The version no longer willing to talk herself out of opportunities because of fear, insecurity, or old limiting beliefs.

I also recognize something deeply woven into who I am.

I was gifted with a servant’s heart.
And I believe that is part of my ultimate calling.

To serve. To encourage. To uplift. To help others heal. To offer comfort, understanding, and hope wherever I can.

To be an attentive and compassionate listener. A safe place for others to exhale. A steady presence in a world that often feels rushed, noisy, and heavy.

That calling has shaped so much of my life and continues to guide the direction of my steps.

After all… we have one life to live.

Let’s not live it angry. Negative. Fearful. Small. Or emotionally asleep.

Let’s not spend our days dull, closed off, or merely going through the motions.

Let’s live awake.

Grateful. Curious. Expansive. Hopeful.

Fully alive.

Jesus said in John 10:10,
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

That scripture speaks deeply to me.

Not merely existing. Not simply surviving.

But truly living.

Abundantly.

Growing. Evolving. Learning. Serving.

Becoming.

Maybe fear has been making choices for you too.

Maybe an old version of yourself is still whispering limitations that no longer fit the person you are becoming.

Maybe the very thing you’re resisting… is the very thing meant to grow you.

So I’ll leave you with this…

What choice are you teetering on?

What brave decision might be waiting to change everything?

Because sometimes one courageous choice…
one bold yes…
one moment of trust…

can quietly change the trajectory of your life.

Choice by choice… day by day…
we are becoming more of who God created us to be.

When Kind Words Arrive Unexpectedly

After finishing one of my services at Mended Souls Massage Clinic & Head/Scalp Sanctuary,

I was simply carrying on with my day…

resetting and tidying the spa, restocking supplies, doing spa laundry, answering calls, and tending to the many quiet responsibilities necessary in running a small business with your own two hands.

Then something beautiful happened.

A review came through.

Unsolicited.
Unexpected.
Unprovoked.

A new client had taken precious time out of her day to say kind things about me and about the work I do here at Mended Souls Massage Clinic & Head/Scalp Sanctuary.

It touched me deeply.

Because the truth is, most of us are carrying things others never fully see.

We show up.
We keep going.
We pour out.
We serve.
We love.

Sometimes tired.
Sometimes stretched thin.
Sometimes quietly wondering…

Does what I do really matter?

Then God sends a reminder.

Sometimes in grand ways.
Sometimes in sacred whispers.

This one came in the form of a beautiful review.

She wrote that her experience “exceeded every expectation.”

She described the session as “pure luxury from beginning to end.”

She shared that she left feeling “completely melted, centered, refreshed, and stress-free.”

Her words were a gift.

It reminded me of something both psychology and science have proven for years:

Words matter.

Encouragement changes people.

Genuine kindness and heartfelt affirmation can increase dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin—the very chemicals associated with trust, emotional connection, joy, and well-being.

Think about that.

A thoughtful message.
A sincere compliment.
A kind review.

These simple acts can literally help calm someone’s nervous system.

They soften stress.
Lift emotional heaviness.
Restore hope.

And sometimes…
kind, uplifting words carry us.

They can carry us through hard seasons.
Through exhaustion.
Through grief.
Through discouragement.
Through days when we feel like we have nothing left to give.

Sometimes all it takes is one timely word…

one thoughtful message…

one person choosing to speak life…

and suddenly the weight feels lighter.

Not because our circumstances instantly changed—
but because something within us shifted.

We feel seen.
We feel valued.
We feel strengthened.

Psychology calls this emotional buffering.
Supportive words can literally help protect the mind and body against the harmful effects of chronic stress.

In simpler terms?

Encouragement helps us carry what feels heavy.

And the ripple effect?
It doesn’t stop with the person receiving the kindness.

It spreads.

One encouraging word can strengthen a weary heart.

That strengthened heart then pours into family, clients, friends, and even strangers.

One small act of kindness can travel farther than we will ever know.

Scripture says it beautifully:

“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”
— Proverbs 16:24

Sweetness to the soul.
Health to the body.

Isn’t that exactly what kindness does?

It ministers.
It heals.
It mends.

So today, I’m simply grateful.

Grateful for every client who trusts me.
Grateful for every kind word.
Grateful for every person who chooses to shine light on someone else.

In a world where criticism comes easily, may we become people who intentionally encourage.

People who notice.
People who speak life.
People who help others shine.

You truly never know what someone may be carrying.

Your words might be the very thing that helps mend a soul.

And around here…

we believe that matters deeply.

Because every soul needs a little mending.

With sincere gratitude,..Ali

A Little Feral. A Little Odd. A Little Hard to Categorize.

But my heart? It’s the realest thing about me.

If you know me in real life, you already know I’m not exactly easy to summarize in one sentence.

Am I a massage therapist?
Yes.

A writer?
Absolutely.

A lyricist?
Yes.

Primitive decorator?
Without question.

Primitive doll maker?
Proudly.

Creator?
To my core.

Collector of weird old rusty dusty treasures that most people would drive right past or haul to the dump?
Also yes.

I’m a complicated mix of…

hippie wannabe,

primitive soul,

creator at heart,

deep thinker,

old soul,

professional over-feeler.

With a suspiciously strong love for old barns, faded quilts, dusty blue paint, antique baby shoes, weathered wood, chandeliers, beautifully polished nails in moody shades of blue, muted purple, or classic black… and the undeniable thrill of finding the perfect marketplace treasure.

Make it make sense.

I simply love creating.

Words.
Songs.
Stories.
Primitive dolls.
Warm healing spaces.
Beauty from broken things.

There’s something deeply satisfying about taking fragments—fabric, wood, old treasures, broken pieces, and even painful life experiences—and turning them into something meaningful.

But beyond creating…

I genuinely love people.

Not surface-level small talk.
I love hearing people’s deep thoughts about life, faith, purpose, pain, healing, mystery, and everything in between.

I love hearing the stories that shaped them.

The things they wrestle with.

The things they wonder about.

The things that light them up.

I love watching someone’s whole face change when they begin talking about something they truly love.

That spark.
That passion.
That fire.

I find people fascinating.

I also tend to go, go, go.

Most days I’m moving from one thing to the next.

Running my business.
Writing.
Creating.
Thinking.
Dreaming.
Helping people.

Building something meaningful.

My mind is rarely still.

And yet… at my core, I’m actually pretty simple.

I’m either dressed in aesthetic black scrubs, creating a calm, warm healing space for my clients…

Or I’m in jeans and a comfortable t-shirt, no makeup, hair pulled back, completely content.

Truthfully, I prefer easy breezy days.
The kind of days that unfold naturally.

No rigid schedules.
No packed agendas.
No constant pressure.

Just margin.
Peace.
A slower pace.
Room to breathe.

The simple things feel rich to me.

Yard work.
Learning something new.
Reading.
Making homemade bread or warm cinnamon rolls.
Working on my home.
Creating something meaningful with my hands.
Good conversation.
A cozy home.
A great marketplace find.

Time with people I love.
That feels like luxury to me.

But my heart?
That’s the simplest part of me.

And maybe that explains the heart behind Mended Souls Massage Clinic & Head/Scalp Sanctuary better than anything else.

Nestled inside the beautiful, historic Old Marshfield Schoolhouse, Mended Souls was intentionally created to feel warm, peaceful, safe, and deeply restorative.

When you walk through my doors, you’re not just booking a service.

You’re stepping into an experience.

A place where your nervous system can finally exhale.

A place where you can settle into the warmth of the heated massage table…

Exhale.

Feel your shoulders soften.
Feel your nervous system begin to settle.

Breathe deeper.
And simply be.

At Mended Souls, clients can always expect intentional care.

A peaceful environment.

A warm spa wrap.

Professional, thoughtful service.

Premium organic products.

Attention to detail.

And an experience tailored specifically to your needs.

No rushing.
No chaos.
No cookie-cutter sessions.

Just intentional healing.

Because I know something to be true.

Most people are carrying far more than they let on.

Stress.
Grief.
Exhaustion.
Chronic pain.
Overwhelm.
Silent battles.

I see it every single day.

And maybe because I feel deeply…

Maybe because I notice what others miss…

Maybe because I genuinely care…

I’ve built Mended Souls around more than massage.

Yes, I care about sore muscles.
Yes, I care about pain relief.
Yes, I care about helping your body heal.

But I also care deeply about the human attached to that body.

Your story.
Your stress.
Your heart.
Your healing.

Are You Running on Empty?

The Hidden Cost of Dehydration

Ali
Mended Souls Massage Clinic
& Head/Scalp Sanctuary
Marshfield, MO

Most people know what severe dehydration looks like.

A hiker stranded in the summer heat.

An athlete collapsing at the finish line.

Someone desperately reaching for a drink after hours without water.

But what many don't realize is that millions of people are walking around every day mildly dehydrated.

They're going to work.
Caring for children.
Attending church.
Running businesses.

Showing up for everyone around them.
Yet they're functioning below their potential because their bodies are quietly struggling to perform the countless tasks that require adequate hydration.

In fact, research shows that even a small decrease in hydration can affect energy, mood, concentration, memory, physical performance, and overall well-being.

You don't have to be severely dehydrated to experience the effects.
You simply have to be running low.

Here's what makes dehydration so remarkable—and sometimes dangerous.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are hospitalized each year due to dehydration.

Older adults account for a significant percentage of those admissions, but dehydration can affect anyone.

What surprises many people is how quickly it can develop.

During periods of excessive heat, illness, strenuous activity, vomiting, diarrhea, or simply not drinking enough water, dehydration can begin within hours.

A person may go from feeling slightly tired, foggy, or thirsty to experiencing dizziness, confusion, rapid heart rate, low blood pressure, and the need for emergency medical care far faster than they would imagine.

The body is incredibly resilient.
But it is also remarkably dependent upon water.

Our bodies are approximately 60% water.

Our brains are nearly 75% water.

Our blood, organs, muscles, joints, and tissues all depend upon hydration to function properly.

Water isn't simply something we drink.
It's the medium through which life itself operates.

Think of your body as a magnificent river system.

Water carries oxygen and nutrients to cells.

It helps regulate body temperature.

It cushions joints.

It supports digestion.

It assists circulation.

It helps remove waste products.

It allows organs and tissues to perform the jobs God designed them to do.

When water levels begin to drop, the entire system must work harder.

Your brain often feels the effects first.

Have you ever walked into a room and forgotten why you were there?

Felt unusually irritable?

Struggled to focus?

Experienced unexplained fatigue?

Developed a headache that seemed to come out of nowhere?

Sometimes the answer isn't complicated.
Sometimes your brain is simply thirsty.

Studies have shown that even mild dehydration can contribute to:

• Brain fog
• Difficulty concentrating
• Fatigue
• Headaches
• Dizziness
• Mood changes
• Increased anxiety
• Reduced memory and attention

Psychologists have discovered something particularly fascinating.

When the body is dehydrated, our perception of stress can increase.

Challenges may feel larger.

Patience becomes shorter.

We become less resilient emotionally.

In other words, the body and mind are constantly communicating with one another.
When one struggles, the other often follows.

Dehydration also affects the body's largest organ—your skin.

Skin cells rely heavily on water to maintain elasticity, resilience, and healthy function.
Without adequate hydration, skin may appear:

• Dry
• Dull
• Less elastic
• More prone to fine lines
• Slower to heal

No expensive cream can completely replace what hydration provides from within.

Our kidneys depend on water to filter waste efficiently.

Our heart must work harder when blood volume decreases.

Digestion can slow.

Muscles may fatigue more quickly.

Joints may feel stiff and achy.

Even our fascia—the intricate connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, nerve, bone, and organ—benefits from proper hydration.

Healthy fascia glides smoothly.

When tissues become dehydrated, movement can feel restricted, tight, and uncomfortable.

As a massage therapist for more than twenty-six years, I witness this regularly.
Clients often arrive complaining of headaches, muscle tension, fatigue, soreness, stiffness, and a general sense that something feels "off."

Massage can be incredibly beneficial.

It encourages circulation.
It supports relaxation.
It helps calm the nervous system.
It promotes healthy movement of soft tissues.

It creates space for the body to shift from survival mode into healing mode.

But massage and hydration are partners.
One does not replace the other.

Imagine trying to wash dishes with a sponge that has become completely dried out.
No matter how hard you scrub, the sponge cannot function as it was designed.

Our bodies are much the same.

The science is fascinating.

The psychology is compelling.

And Scripture has been teaching the importance of water all along.

Throughout the Bible, water symbolizes life, renewal, cleansing, and restoration.

One of my favorite examples is the story of Elijah.

After experiencing a great spiritual victory, Elijah became physically exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed, and discouraged.

God's first response wasn't correction.
It wasn't a lecture.
It wasn't a list of things Elijah needed to do better.

Instead, God provided rest, food, and nourishment.

Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is care for the body God entrusted to us.

Jesus Himself spoke of "living water" that satisfies the deepest thirst of the soul.

What a beautiful reminder that both our bodies and spirits require replenishment.

Perhaps today is a good day to ask yourself:
When was the last time I intentionally hydrated?

Not coffee.

Not soda.

Not an energy drink.

Water.

Pure, simple, life-giving water.

Sometimes feeling better doesn't begin with a complicated solution.

Sometimes it begins with a glass of water.

A nourishing meal.

A deep breath.

A short walk.

A moment of rest.

A decision to care for yourself as thoughtfully as you care for everyone else.

Healing isn't always found in grand gestures.
Sometimes healing begins with nourishment.

Nourishing the body with water.

Nourishing the mind with knowledge.

Nourishing the spirit with faith.

Nourishing the soul with kindness, connection, and rest.

We live in a culture that often celebrates exhaustion as though it were a badge of honor.
We rush from one obligation to the next, running on empty while convincing ourselves we'll slow down someday.

Yet our bodies were never designed to thrive in a constant state of depletion.

Just as a garden cannot flourish without water, sunlight, and care, neither can we.

Every healthy choice becomes an act of nourishment.

Every glass of water.

Every nourishing meal.

Every moment of rest.

Every prayer.

Every deep breath.

Every walk in the sunshine.

Every massage.

Every decision to care for yourself with the same compassion you freely offer others.

Little by little, these choices accumulate.

They strengthen the body.
They calm the mind.
They restore the spirit.
They mend the soul.

At Mended Souls Massage Clinic
& Head/Scalp Sanctuary,
education is part of healing.

The more we understand our bodies, the better equipped we are to partner with them rather than fight against them.

Your body is constantly speaking.

Hydration may be one of the simplest ways to begin listening.

And because I believe healing extends beyond the treatment room, every client at Mended Souls receives a chilled bottle of Fiji Water and a small nourishing snack at the conclusion of their session.

It may seem like a simple gesture.

But it's intentional.

After your massage, bodywork session, or Head/Scalp Sanctuary experience, your body has been invited into a state of rest, repair, and restoration.

Hydration helps support that process.

The snack serves as a gentle reminder that nourishment is not a luxury—it is a necessity.

So many of us spend our lives caring for everyone else.
We push through exhaustion.
Ignore hunger.
Delay rest.

And convince ourselves we'll take care of our own needs later.

At Mended Souls, I hope those few moments before you leave become a reminder.

A reminder to replenish what has been depleted.

A reminder to nourish your body.

A reminder to care for your mind.

A reminder to nurture your spirit.

A reminder to nourish your soul.

And perhaps most importantly, a reminder that you matter too.

My hope is that when you leave, you're not only feeling better physically, but that you feel seen, valued, encouraged, and cared for.

Because healing isn't just about muscles.

It's about the whole person.

Body.
Mind.
Spirit.
Soul.

Nourish your body.
Nourish your mind.
Nourish your spirit.
Nourish your soul.

Because every soul needs a little mending.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for supporting my small business, trusting me with your care, and allowing me to do work that I genuinely love.

Many of you have been with me through life's celebrations, challenges, losses, victories, healing journeys, and new beginnings.

Your support means more than you know.

What began as a dream has grown into something truly special.

Mended Souls Massage Clinic & Head/Scalp Sanctuary continues to grow because of your loyalty, referrals, kindness, and encouragement.

For that, I am deeply grateful.

My goal has always been simple:

to provide a peaceful sanctuary where you can step away from the demands of life, exhale, and receive the care your mind, body, and spirit deserve.

As my business continues to grow, I occasionally need to make adjustments that allow me to maintain the quality of service and personalized attention you have come to expect.

♡♡♡ Effective immediately, my latest appointment start time will be 3:00 p.m.

This change allows me to continue providing each client with the focused, unhurried experience that is at the heart of everything I do.

Weekend appointments often book several weeks in advance and remain my most requested appointment times.

This small adjustment helps me continue offering weekend availability while maintaining the level of care and service my clients deserve.

I would also like to share an update regarding the Head/Scalp Sanctuary.

This luxurious 2+ hour experience has become one of the most loved services I offer.

Everybody Hurts......sometimes.

As a massage therapist of 27 years, this song has touched me in a way few others have.

Day after day, I have the privilege of witnessing what people often carry behind their smiles—the grief, the exhaustion, the anxiety, the heartbreak, the caregiving, the financial stress, physical pain, the diagnoses they never saw coming, and sometimes simply the weight of being human.

What I have learned is that nearly everyone is fighting a battle that isn't immediately visible.

This song gently reminds us of something beautiful and important:
we are not alone in our struggles.

Every person who has ever lived has known seasons of sorrow, uncertainty, and pain. Yet there is something profoundly healing about knowing someone understands, even if only through a song.

In my own life, there have been moments when I felt overwhelmed, discouraged, and weary.

That's why "Everybody Hurts" remains so timeless. It doesn't try to fix us. It simply sits beside us in our humanity and whispers,

"Hold on."

Sometimes those two words are exactly what a person needs to hear.

What a beautiful reminder that compassion matters, kindness matters, and that even on our hardest days, we are more connected to one another than we realize.

I think Michael Stipe and R.E.M. captured something universal here—the simple truth that everybody hurts sometimes, and perhaps the greatest gift we can offer one another is to remember that nobody should have to hurt alone. ❤️

At Mended Souls Massage Clinic & Head/Scalp Sanctuary, we understand that stress, grief, chronic pain, burnout, and life's challenges don't just affect the mind—they live in the body as well.

If your body has been carrying more than it should, perhaps it's time to give yourself permission to rest, reset, and receive care.

To schedule your appointment, call or text today. (417-337-4322)

Your healing journey matters, and you don't have to carry it all alone.

The Weight of Being Held

Now Being Incorporated Into Sessions at Mended Souls Massage Clinic & Head/Scalp Sanctuary

There is something almost sacred about climbing the old wooden stairs to the third floor of the historic Old Marshfield Schoolhouse in Marshfield, MO

By the time many clients reach my door, something in them has already begun slowing down.

Maybe it is the quietness.
Maybe it is the separation from the outside world below.

Maybe it is the dim lighting, the velvet drapes, the calming scent in the air, the soft music, the water features, the warmth of the room, or simply the feeling that for a little while…they can finally exhale.

After 27 years as a massage therapist, I have learned something important:

Most people are carrying invisible weight.

Stress.
Mental exhaustion.
Hypervigilance.
Grief.
Overstimulation.
Emotional heaviness.

And the body carries it everywhere.

Especially in the stomach.

The abdomen is one of the first places the body protects itself.

When life feels overwhelming, the body often tightens through the core without us even realizing it.

The stomach may clench.
The diaphragm may become restricted. Breathing may become shallow.
Digestion may slow down.
The ribs may feel tight.
The low back may begin compensating.

That is because the stomach is not just a physical area.
It is deeply connected to the nervous system.

The abdomen is closely tied to the vagus nerve, which helps regulate breathing, digestion, heart rhythm, and the body’s ability to shift into rest.

It is also connected to what many call the “gut-brain connection,” where emotional stress and physical sensations communicate back and forth.

This is why anxiety can feel like butterflies.
Why grief can feel like a hollow ache.
Why fear can make the stomach tighten.
Why chronic stress can leave the body feeling guarded.

Sometimes the stomach is not “just tight.”
Sometimes it has been holding years of bracing.

Recently, I purchased a small weighted lap blanket to begin incorporating into sessions for my clients.

And honestly…

Before ever using it professionally, I tried it myself.

For quite some time I have personally struggled with insomnia. Like so many people, my mind can continue racing long after the day is over.

For the past two nights, I placed the weighted blanket gently across my stomach before going to sleep.

And both nights…
I slept through the night.

Not restless sleep.
Not waking repeatedly.
But deep, grounded sleep.

That experience alone fascinated me enough to begin studying the science behind why.

Researchers have found that gentle therapeutic weight can activate something called deep pressure stimulation, which may help calm the nervous system and encourage the body to shift from “fight or flight” into a more restorative parasympathetic state.

In simple terms…

The body begins realizing it is safe.

The stomach softens.
Breathing deepens.
The shoulders lower.
The nervous system quiets.

The therapeutic weight creates an incredibly comforting cocoon-like sensation.

Not heavy enough to feel uncomfortable.
Not restrictive.
But weighted enough for the nervous system to physically register support, grounding, and safety.

Many people do not realize how tightly they brace against life until something finally helps them let go.

This weighted grounding blanket will rest gently over the stomach and diaphragm area during portions of the sessions — especially during Head/Scalp Sanctuary treatments where clients are already experiencing: • rhythmic scalp massage

• warm steam therapies
• calming oils
• therapeutic touch
• heat therapies
• soft sensory lighting
• quiet atmosphere
• nervous system regulation

Together, it creates a feeling many describe as:

• comforting
• grounding
• emotionally safe
• deeply calming

Almost like being held.

And honestly…

I believe many people have gone years without truly feeling held by life.

Not emotionally.
Not mentally.
Not physically.

Scripture says:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

What a beautiful picture.

A weary nervous system finally resting.
A guarded body finally softening.
A soul finally feeling safe enough to stop bracing against the world.

And perhaps that is part of healing too.
