Tributes from patients and families whose lives have been changed by Denny Sanford’s generosity continue fill our hearts, including these heartfelt words from Alissa, mom to Liam: "We are so grateful for the doctors and nurses at the Sanford Children’s Castle for saving our little boy’s life. If it wasn’t for the generosity of Denny Sanford, we may not have been able to get the amazing care and support we did. It is a blessing to have Sanford Children’s Hospital so close to home."

Liam was just 3 months old when he was rushed to Sanford Children's after testing positive for RSV and COVID. During his 22-day stay, he spent 12 days on a ventilator, faced pneumonia in both lungs and battled a host of other challenges. Thanks to lifesaving care from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Liam recovered and now, this sweet boy is reaching new milestones every day — like getting his very own Miracle Treat Day Blizzard!

Did you know Santa travels on a motorcycle in the summer?

We are incredibly grateful to Santa Greg, the entire Christmas In July Charity crew, and our volunteers for making Saturday’s Charity Ride such a memorable event for our pediatric patients and families.

Now in its 12th year, the Christmas in July Charity Ride is a true testament to the generosity and dedication of this amazing group. This year’s fundraising efforts will support a multidisciplinary sensory room in our Child Development Center, benefiting children for years to come. Thank you for making a difference and creating such a magical day for our young patients!

Last week, we joined our friends at Marshfield Clinic Research Institute to surprise Dr. Scott Hebbring as the recipient of the 2026 Gwen D. Sebold Fellowship for Outstanding Research. We look forward to celebrating Dr. Hebbring alongside Dewey Sebold, pictured on the right, at the fellowship event on October 14!

Another successful surprise occurred on Wednesday, when Dr. Scott Hebbring learned he was the 2026 Sebold Fellowship Recipient. There is always a lot of behind-the-scenes coordination to surprise the recipient, and this year was no exception. Scott, walked into a room, expecting a meeting, and was met by friends, colleagues and family who welcomed this year’s recipient with a roaring applause! Thanks to Dewey Sebold, who joined the celebration today. Many colleagues across MCRI welcomed the recipient! Please mark your calendars for the presentation of the Fellowship on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. It is always one of the best events of the year
