The West Mar House—a initiative of the American Legion Auxiliary (Western Maryland District)—is an alternative to hotels, and it's located right on the Martinsburg campus. We were honored to welcome 103-year-old WWII Veteran Wilbur Myers to the Medical Center today! Mr. Myers, a Williamsport, Maryland native who served in Europe during the war, took time between appointments to share his wisdom and remarkable life stories, including how he found himself at Camden Yards last month to sing the national anthem in front of thousands as part of the Orioles’ America 250 celebration! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time with him and are grateful for the opportunity to learn from one of our nation’s heroes. Thank you, Mr. Myers, for your service and for inspiring us all!

International Overdose Awareness Day is approaching. Our Clinical Pharmacists were at the Cumberland and Hagerstown clinics this week to promote prevention, harm reduction, and recovery for Veterans and their families. The next stop is the Wi******er VA Clinic—join us on Tuesday, August 11, from 10 AM to Noon. Together we can honor those lost to overdose and raise awareness about its ongoing impact.
