Our August Friends on the Go outing took our Friends to Main Street Grill in Martinsville for their adult grilled cheese and fries for lunch!!

Then over to The Glazed Gypsy on the Martinsville square to paint their choice of flower pots.

We're all eager to see how they turn out once they are fired.

Last week the entire team of both centers, A Senior Retreat, Adult Day Services and A Senior Retreat Adult Day Services - Johnson County, became Dementia Friends!

If you would like to learn more about your family or organizations becoming Dementia Friends as well, Anna Lee Williams and Joni Chastain are official Dementia Friends Champions to lead your training!

We love when young volunteers join us to help in some fun with our Friends!

Team member, Kristin Rodgers Snyder, brought two of her granddaughters to volunteer before school started.

Baking club, arts and crafts sprinkled with some good-humored fun is always welcome!

We'll be welcoming our Martinsville High School students again soon!

Intergenerational engagement is equally beneficial for both generations! We're excited to be one of the few programs in the county to help promoted this model of education and care!

YOU ARE INVITED! We are celebrating 7 years of service with an OPEN HOUSE! If you haven't been in our building, please come by on Wednesday, August 12th from 3pm-6pm at our location- 609 S Lincoln Street, Martinsville. We will have refreshments, tours, and a door prize. Shew, what a hot one!

We were at the first Eric Church/ Chris Stapleton tribute concerts for RD Productions, LLC at Cedar Creek Distillery tonight representing the best senior care in Morgan and Johnson County!

The bands were FANTASTIC!

The lines for beers or food were long....but what a great night!

Friends on the Go July 2026

Ms. Daisy and crew did their regular route then headed to pick up our Friends at A Senior Retreat Adult Day Services - Johnson County. While Silver Carol (our van) and Susan Isselhardt Lowe 's vehicle all loaded up Friends from Martinsville to head to our first stop in downtown Greenwood, Teal Canary Art studio.

Friends created their own decoupage projects. ASR team members assisted with tearing the paper while the Friends placed it on with the glue. We got our fingers sticky and ohhh, the focus they all had to create their masterpieces

Our second stop, The Knuckle Sandwich in Bargersville for lunch of tenderloin sandwiches, slaw and fries with their choice of beverage. Melissa and her wait staff took exceptional care of us! They were ready for the party of 23 and made it all look easy!

Another great day out enjoying our community, learning something new and meeting new friends.

Our Friends on the Go program is a result of the Community Foundation of Morgan County Women Who Care giving circle award earlier this year!

August FOG is scheduled for August 19th for lunch in downtown Martinsville and a trip to The Glazed Gypsy.
