Created with cotton canvas, acrylic paint, mulberry paper, embroidery thread, light molding paste and machine stitching. SAQA will use the small-scale art quilts to create several traveling collections designed to let groups experience contemporary fiber art up close.

After seeing artist Laura Wasilowski’s embroidered wool bowls on Instagram, I had to embroider one too. My embroidery skills are not Wasilowski quality but I’m happy enough with the results to make more.

The blue fish quilt I recently posted was kind of blah. That bothered me and after consulting with a friend, she agreed it needed outlined with an eye grabbing color and suggested green. Chartreuse pearl cotton provided the punch of color it needed. I think it’s an improvement. Chartreuse is very tasty too.
