Help make reading fun and easy! Have your child sign up for their own library card today!

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! A library card gets you free books, eBooks, state park passes...and entry into a raffle? Yes, for the month of September we are having a library card sign-up contest for children ages 0-17. Those who sign up for their first Yuba County Library card between September 1st to 30th will be entered in to win a fun prize bag!

Guidelines:
📖 This contest is only for children ages 0-17.

📖Only those who sign up for their first Yuba County Library card are eligible to be entered in, not those getting a replacement card.

📖Children and their parent must both be present to sign up and receive a library card. Parents must bring in their valid photo ID (CA ID, CA driver's license, green card, or military ID) and proof of their current mailing address (something that has been through the mail or a digital bill/invoice from the last 30 days) in order to make a card for their child.

📖You can register for a card online, but the card must be picked up or made into an ECARD to count.

Meet Valeria Padilla Vazquez! Valeria is excited to be part of our school family as a paraeducator. She loves the wonder and curiosity children bring to the classroom each day and wants every child to feel safe, loved, and that they truly belong.

Outside of school, Valeria enjoys hiking, kayaking, going to the gym, and cooking for family and friends. She also loves The Color Monster and Highland cows—they always make her smile!

Valeria looks forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and making special memories with our littlest learners!

Please join us in welcoming Nicole Leebeck to our preschool family!

Nicole is a wife, a mom of two, and a lifelong resident of the greater Sacramento and Placer County area. As an Early Childhood Special Education teacher, she is passionate about creating classrooms where every child feels they belong, is valued for who they are, and has the support they need to grow. She loves partnering with families and celebrating those joyful "I did it!" moments as children gain confidence, independence, and discover their own unique ways to communicate.

Outside the classroom, you'll often find Nicole spending time with her family or helping on their cattle ranch and raising sheep—experiences that have given her a love for messy, hands-on learning! In the classroom, she enjoys sensory play, music and movement, and turning learning into fun games. One of her favorite children's books is Pete the Cat, and her greatest hope is that every child walks through the door knowing, "I belong here."

Please join us in welcoming Mallory Christopherson to our preschool family!

Mallory is a wife, mom of three, and is excited to be back in the preschool classroom! With experience as a preschool teacher, paraprofessional, youth sports coach, school volunteer, and PTC member, she loves building strong relationships with children and their families. She hopes every child who walks into thr classroom feels safe, loved, welcomed, and excited to learn.

When she's not at school, you'll likely find her paddleboarding, snowboarding, reading, or spending time outdoors with her family. In the classroom, she loves creating with play dough and sharing stories with children. Two of her favorite books are The Rabbit Listened and Bonaparte Falls Apart—and she's such a book lover that she admits it's almost impossible to part with any of her children's books at home!

We're so happy to have Mallory on our team and can't wait for our families to get to know her!

Meet Inderpal Bajwa! Originally from India, Inderpal moved to the United States in 2008 and has been working in early childhood education ever since. She believes that building positive relationships with children and their families is the foundation for a successful preschool experience and loves the moment when children proudly recognize her and call her by name.

She is passionate about creating a safe, caring, and positive environment where every child feels heard, valued, and supported as they build confidence and friendships.

Outside of the classroom, she's the proud mom of a 4-year-old daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, watching movies, and sharing her love of children's books through storytime at home and in the classroom.

We're so grateful to have Inderpal as part of our CDC family!

We're excited to begin introducing the newest members of the MJUSD Child Development Team!

First up is Stephanie Raya! Stephanie joins us from Yuba City with years of experience in both special and general education. She is passionate about building strong relationships with children and families while creating a safe, welcoming classroom where every child feels valued and supported.

She loves watching young learners grow in confidence as they discover new things each day. Outside of school, you'll find Stephanie fishing, trying new foods, spending time with family and friends, or exploring new places.

Her goal is simple but meaningful: that every child walks into the classroom feeling safe, loved, important, and excited to learn.

When it comes to story time, Stephanie enjoys sharing Frog and Toad and Big Panda and Tiny Dragon, and she loves bringing learning to life through dramatic play and interactive reading experiences.

Please join us in giving Stephanie a warm MJUSD welcome!
