❤️ A lifesaving procedure. A second chance. A story worth sharing.

Paul's journey is a powerful reminder of the impact advanced heart care can have on a patient's life. Through the expertise of Dr. Schwabe and the team at Mosaic Life Care, Paul received the care he needed when it mattered most. Now, with the investment in our new Heart, Lung and Vascular Center, Mosaic is building on that commitment to keep world-class cardiovascular care local, ensuring more patients can receive expert treatment close to home.

🥹🩷 A milestone worth celebrating! Our very first Milk Depot donation is officially in the books. Thank you to Mikalah for donating 135 ounces of breast milk to help babies in need through The Milk Bank. One donation, countless lives touched. 🥛

Our very first Milk Depot donation! 🥹🩷

There couldn’t be a more fitting person to help us mark this milestone.

Mikalah is a former member of our team, having worked as a scrub tech here before beginning medical school at UMKC. She plans to become an OB/GYN and hopes to further specialize in Breastfeeding Medicine—so seeing her return to New Beginnings, this time as a milk donor, feels incredibly full circle.

Mikalah donated 135 ounces of breast milk to our new Milk Depot. Every ounce will be sent to The Milk Bank, where donated milk is carefully screened, pasteurized, and prepared to help provide human milk to babies who need it.

This is exactly what we hoped our Milk Depot would become: a way for families in our community to turn their extra milk into something extraordinary for another family. One mother helping another mother. One baby helping another baby. 💕

Mikalah, thank you for trusting us with your donation—and for being the very first name on our donor board! We are so excited to watch where your journey in medicine takes you. Something tells us this won’t be the last time you make a difference for moms and babies. 🩷

135 ounces donated. Countless drops of love. And our Milk Depot is officially underway! 🥛✨

🌻 Congratulations to Sarah Helfery, Mammography Technologist at Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph Medical Center, on being honored with the Sunflower Award!

Part of Sarah's nomination reads:

“I met Sarah in her role as Mammography Technician. I was nervous about an abnormal finding, and Sarah cared for me with compassion and comfort. She took time to explain everything she was doing, let me see the films and explained why there was a concern. Then, after speaking with the radiologist, she explained what the plan of care would be. I had to go back for a biopsy and I requested her to be the tech in the room during the procedure. Again, she was very compassionate and kind."

🐾❤️ This National Dog Day, we're celebrating Bella, a true four-legged hero. When her owner, Bill, passed out in the shower from a ruptured brain aneurysm, Bella sprang into action, alerting others and helping get him the lifesaving care he needed. Today, Bill is here to share his story thanks in part to his loyal best friend. Heroes don't always wear capes. Sometimes, they have paws.

August is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Awareness Month - Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on strengthening and rehabilitating the muscles that support the bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. These muscles play a vital role in core stability, posture, and everyday functions like urination, bowel movements, and sexual health. When the pelvic floor becomes weak or dysfunctional – often due to childbirth, surgery, aging, or injury – it can lead to issues such as incontinence, pelvic pain, or prolapse. Pelvic floor therapy offers a non-invasive, effective approach to restore function, reduce discomfort, and improve quality of life. Whether you’re recovering from childbirth, managing chronic pelvic pain, or simply seeking preventative care, pelvic floor therapy can help you feel stronger, more confident, and in control of your body.
