💜 Resident Spotlight: Pat 💜

There’s a beloved poem about growing older called “When I Am an Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple”
It’s about living boldly, embracing life’s quirks, saying what’s on your mind, and never losing your spark.

Every time we read it, we think of Pat.

Pat is our firecracker. You never know what story she’s going to tell or what hilarious comment is about to come out of her mouth—but you know it’s going to make you smile. She has a spirit that’s impossible to ignore and a heart that’s as sweet as they come.

She reminds us that growing older doesn’t mean growing quieter. It means embracing who you are, sharing your stories, laughing often, and living with joy.

Pat, thank you for filling our days with laughter, love, and your wonderfully unforgettable personality. We are so lucky that we get to love on you… and even luckier to be loved by you.

✨ Employee Spotlight: Brittany Hansen, RN ✨

Meet Brittany! 💚

Since joining Nodaway Nursing Home in January 2026, Brittany has brought creativity, compassion, and a true team-first spirit to everything she does. With six years of nursing experience, she takes great pride in her work—and it shows in the way she consistently shows up for both her residents and coworkers.

Brittany is always willing to jump in, lend a hand, wear multiple hats, or find a creative way to make the day a little brighter. What she loves most about her role is spending time in our residents’ home, caring for them, building meaningful relationships, and having the privilege of being part of their everyday lives. 💚

Outside of work, Brittany enjoys baking and spending time with her husband, Justin, and their five beautiful children. She shares that the support she receives from administration in her role as Charge Nurse has given her something especially meaningful—a healthy work-life balance that allows her to be fully present for both the residents she cares for and the family she loves.

Brittany, your dedication, creativity, and willingness to step up wherever you are needed do not go unnoticed. We are incredibly grateful that you chose to bring your heart and talents to the Nodaway Nursing Home family! 💚🩺

One of the greatest gifts of life at Nodaway Nursing Home isn’t just the care, it’s the friendships that blossom along the way.

Kathy and Dale are a wonderful reminder that it’s never too late to find someone who makes you smile, share a laugh, or brighten your day. The connections formed here become so much more than friendships; they become family.
