September is both Recovery Month and Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, making it an especially meaningful time to recognize the power of hope, connection, compassion, and support.

At Prairie Ridge, our team has the privilege of walking alongside people from all walks of life, meeting them where they are, supporting them through challenges, and reminding them that recovery and hope are possible.

✂️ Last Thursday, August 27th, we gathered at our Mason City office for an official ribbon cutting to celebrate an exciting milestone for Prairie Ridge: the completion of our new building addition! ✂️

This new space represents more than additional square footage. The addition provides much-needed group rooms, giving us additional space to bring people together for treatment, support, and recovery services while continuing to meet the growing needs of the individuals and families we serve.

This expansion was made possible through an infrastructure grant through the Iowa Governor’s Office and Iowa Economic Development Authority, and we are incredibly grateful for the investment and support that helped make it a reality.

The day was made even more meaningful through our collaboration with the Addiction and Recovery Collaborative - UI ARC to bring The INTO LIGHT Project exhibit to Prairie Ridge. Through hand-drawn portraits and personal stories, INTO LIGHT honors individuals who have died from drug addiction, preserving their stories while helping change the conversation surrounding substance use and reduce stigma.

And today, as we begin Recovery Month, the stories shared through INTO LIGHT serve as a meaningful reminder of the people and families at the heart of why this work matters and why we continue working toward a future where recovery is possible and stigma has no place.

Thank you to the Greater Mason City Chamber of Commerce, Addiction and Recovery Collaborative – UI ARC, our staff, community partners, and everyone who helped make the day so special!

We are happy to share that we are recognizing Beca Krogan as our Prairie Award recipient for June!

During the month of June, Beca received nominations recognizing the compassion, patience, and dedication she brings to the children and families she serves. Nominations highlighted the way she takes the time to understand each child’s unique strengths and challenges, creates an environment where they feel valued and supported, and helps them build the skills and confidence to succeed.

Families shared that Beca’s kindness, encouragement, and genuine care have made a lasting difference in the lives of their children and their families. Through her ability to build trust, celebrate progress, and partner with families, she provides support that extends far beyond the therapy room.

Beca’s work truly brings Prairie Ridge’s values to life through the compassion, respect, and dedication she shows to the people she serves every day.

Prairie Ridge had a great time attending the Community Health Center of Mason City's Back-to-School Block Party! 📚🎒

Thank you to the Community Health Center and all of the organizations, volunteers, and community partners who came together to help local students start the school year healthy, prepared, and ready to learn.

We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with families, share resources, and be part of events that strengthen our community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, we loved meeting so many of you!
