As we transition into a new school year, we’re filling our backpacks with our target words, talking all things apples 🍎, and soaking up these last warm days with some water bead fun! 💦

We’re working on lots of important skills along the way—from articulating words to using words to request and label items, all while getting in plenty of fun sensory play! 🌟

🍕✨ This week's BeYOUtiful Adventure in Baking was a pizza-making success! 🍕

Our little chefs had so much fun creating their own pizzas while practicing sequencing, listening, and answering questions every step of the way. We also worked on using clear speech and using our words to request the ingredients and tools we needed. ❤️
Learning is always a little more fun when there's pizza involved! 🍅🧀

🦁🐸🐘 We’re getting all of our articulation minis organized and just added a bunch of adorable new 3D-printed animals!

Some are easy to identify (like the ones on the left… lion, elephant, frog 🥰), but a few of the little creatures on the right have us completely stumped! 🤔

🍔🌭 Gearing up for the Fourth of July in speech therapy 🇺🇸

Today we had so much fun pretend grilling hot dogs and hamburgers while working on our speech and language skills! We practiced following directions to sequence the steps for cooking, answered questions about what comes next, requested the items we needed, and used our best articulation along the way. 🗣️👏

Learning through play makes speech therapy extra exciting, and this summer-themed activity was a big hit! ☀️❤️💙

✨🧘‍♀️ Looking for a little zen in your speech therapy? We’ve got you covered! 🧘‍♂️✨

This week, we added a few special touches to our office to create an even more peaceful and welcoming environment for learning. 🌿💙

The world can be busy and chaotic, making it difficult for our brains to focus. When we feel calm, regulated, and comfortable, we are better able to learn, communicate, and grow. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to create the best possible space for our clients.

Some of our newest additions include a soothing waterfall feature in our sensory room, a warm and peaceful salt lamp in our lobby, and we're experimenting with calming background music and gentle diffusers to help create a relaxing atmosphere. 💧🪔🎶

Our goal is to provide an environment that helps every child feel comfortable, focused, and ready for "just right" learning. We can't wait for everyone to enjoy these new calming touches! ✨🌱

🍦☀️ Who is in the mood for ice cream this summer? We sure are! ☀️🍦

Speech therapy has been extra sweet lately as we dive into all things ice cream! We’ve been sequencing the steps to make banana splits, milkshakes, and ice cream sundaes while building important language and communication skills along the way. 🍌🥤🍨
We’re also having fun with ice cream smash mats and feeding our little friends as we practice our target words and sounds. To top it all off, we’re working on spelling and answering questions about how to make these delicious frozen treats! 🍒✨

At this rate, we’ll be ready to open our very own ice cream shop before you know it! 🍦🏪💕

Now we want to know... what’s YOUR favorite ice cream flavor? And the big question: sprinkles or no sprinkles? 🌈🍨👇

Feel Good Friday ❤️🤍💙

Since America is turning 250 this year, I thought it would be fun to learn about the presidents with my spellers. One student showed his amazing sense of humor when he spelled, “quiet Terri hot for more presidents” 😂 — but then moments later showed such deep thinking when he spelled, “people gently erase history.”

One of the things I love most about spelling to communicate is that it gives students the opportunity to truly say what they want to say and show the world their knowledge, thoughts, humor, and personality. It is such a gift to witness their voices shine through in ways that might otherwise stay hidden. 💙

It’s grilling season in speech therapy this week! 🌭☀️ We have been having so much fun playing BBQ Party while working on our speech and language skills. Our little friends practiced requesting different items, using target phrases like “put it on,” and taking turns with friends.

There are so many fun speech and language targets packed into this simple summer activity, and the kids are loving every minute of it! 🍔🌽🍉
