Finding some steadiness in triangle, and connection in community.

There’s a quiet sort of beauty in repetition. Yall are familiar with this pose. We return to it in our practice often (daily?), not for the sake of perfection but to notice what unfolds when we show up consistently. There’s shared breath and familiar faces and the collective energy of people practicing side by side. We notice something new each time, about the pose or the breath or ourselves.

Come out and try it sometime 😉 see you on the mat

POV: you came for the yoga and accidentally joined a community 👀

Now you have a favorite spot in the room, your favorite set of blocks (because the blue blocks match your vibe), and you are on a first name basis with half the class.

Funny how that happens. We’re grateful for our little corner of queens and everyone who makes it feel like home. Even if no one actually knows where or what Maspeth is 😜

Summer here we come!
🌿June member of the month🌿
Some people help make a studio feel like home, and Julie is one of those people. Since the early days of QCY Julie has been a familiar face in our classes, workshops, and community gatherings. Her dedication to practice, her kind spirit, and her willingness to show up are a beautiful reminder of what yoga is really about.

This community isn’t built by the studio alone, it’s all of yall and your shining faces that come through the door and get on your mats to practice together.

Welcome Mariya! Stop by on Thursdays at 6PM for our new evening Vinyasa flow.

If you love the structure and intelligence of Ashtanga, but don’t necessarily want to do a full primary series after a full day of work, this one is for you. Expect breath-centered movement, familiar postures, and a steady flow that will energize without overstimulating.

Mariya is a 275-hour trauma-informed yoga, meditation, and breathwork teacher living in Ridgewood, NY. A dedicated practitioner of over fifteen years, she completed her 200hr teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa in 2021 and has been learning, practicing, and teaching ever since. She is currently pursuing her 300-hour YTT with the Ignite Institute, which focuses on the intersection of yoga philosophy and social justice. As a practicing yoga teacher and licensed social worker, Mariya is working to support students in understanding and applying yoga in their daily lives, firmly believing that we are our own best teachers. Her classes are deeply rooted in emotional and mental safety and trauma-informed principles, seeking to welcome and support anyone who is ready to find their own practice. She seeks to create spaces where students can find mindful (and joyful!) movement, focus on their breath, and leave restored and rejuvenated, ready to take on the challenges of their daily lives. Outside of the studio, you’re likely to find her outside, enjoying the sun, and walking with her partner Zach and their rescue pup, Sammy.

Join Lauren and Dorita for a special summer solstice gathering as we welcome the longest day of the year and celebrate the warmth and abundance of the summer! We’ll move, breathe, reflect, and reconnect in community. Expect yoga, invigorating pranyama, sound, cacao, and guided journaling.

We’re super looking forward to this opportunity to share our seasonal ritual with yall, take a little pause in the chaos of the transition to summer, take stock of what’s flourishing and make space for what we want to cultivate in the months ahead. If you have a journal or favorite pen or pencil feel free to bring it with you, but we will have supplies available for everyone.

Friday June 19, 7-9PM.
All are welcome.

Yall are the heartbeat of this space.

A space shaped by shared breaths, quiet healing, human connection.

Without this community it’s just walls.

We are endlessly grateful for your beautiful faces, thank you all for helping to make this a place where we can be vulnerable and grow together.

Our resident core expert/enthusiast Kayti talks a little about bringing breath into your practice. Expand on this at her workshop coming up!
