This is a special week for case managers too, National Case Management Week! 🎉

We want to say thank you to the workers' compensation case managers doing some of the most demanding, most human work in our industry.

You coordinate care across physicians, therapists, adjusters, employers, and providers. You explain what comes next to someone who is in pain and worried about getting back to work. You keep the details from slipping through the cracks so an injured worker doesn't have to.

We're fortunate to work alongside case managers, and we see how much it takes. Thank you for the calls you make, the advocacy you provide, and the care you bring to every file.

Behind every workers' compensation claim is a family. When a parent is seriously or fatally injured at work, their children's futures can be affected too.

That's where Kids' Chance comes in. State Kids' Chance organizations across the country provide educational scholarships to children of workers who have been seriously or fatally injured on the job.

October 12 to 16 is Kids' Chance Awareness Week, and this year's national theme is "Stronger Together," bringing those state organizations together to raise awareness and support for these families.

Our industry sees the impact of workplace injuries every day. Kids' Chance is one meaningful way to help with what comes next.

October is both National Physical Therapy Month and National Ergonomics Month, and the two belong together. 💜

Ergonomics prevents. Setting up the desk, tools, and tasks the right way keeps everyday work from straining the body.

Physical therapy restores. When an injury does happen, PT helps rebuild the strength, mobility, and function people need to get back to work and back to life. 💪

At Comp-X, our ancillary team helps adjusters and nurse case managers connect injured workers with the right physical therapy, right when they need it.

For catastrophic or complex claims involving multiple services, continuity matters.

When several services must be coordinated, important details can be lost between handoffs, the family member who helps with communication, an apartment without an elevator, or a delivery window that does not work for the injured worker.

For these complex cases, Comp-X provides one dedicated point of contact who understands the claim and helps coordinate services across the injured worker’s care journey.

A smooth transition home begins well before an injured worker leaves the hospital or rehabilitation facility.

Having essential equipment and the first nursing visit arranged in advance can help reduce uncertainty for the worker and their family, support continuity of care, and lower the risk of preventable setbacks.

Our care coordinators connect with hospital and rehabilitation discharge planners early so equipment can be delivered and initial visits scheduled before the worker returns home.

An injured worker may still be receiving supplies they no longer need.

Auto-ship programs can be convenient, but when a worker’s needs change, recurring orders may continue unnoticed. Individual invoices may be small, yet the costs can add up over the life of a claim.

That’s why Comp-X has a zero-tolerance auto-ship policy. Before any recurring supplies are reordered, we confirm directly with the injured worker that they remain medically necessary. Monthly outreach helps ensure each shipment reflects the worker’s current needs and not simply a recurring schedule.

⛳ Out on the course today for Kids’ Chance of Pennsylvania.

Kids’ Chance provides scholarships to the children of workers who were seriously injured or killed on the job. It is a hard thing to think about and a straightforward thing to support: when a parent cannot work again, a child’s education should not be the next thing lost.

Proud to be at the Philadelphia golf outing today, and grateful to everyone who turns out for it year after year.
