“I’m cancer-free… but I still have those dang tattoos.” 🎀

Like so many people during COVID-19, I fell behind on my preventative exams. As we started moving out of the pandemic in 2021, my primary care physician insisted that I get back on track — and, of course, that’s when they found something.

Just my luck. 🙃

As part of my treatment, I would need radiation. Now, I’m someone who does not like hearing a lot of details about treatment beforehand because my anxiety will take over. So when I showed up for my first radiation treatment and the nurse told me she was going to put three tiny tattoos on me so they could line up the radiation treatments correctly, I was absolutely horrified.

Which is honestly ridiculous because I already have a tattoo the size of my entire shoulder blade. 😂

But for some reason, those three little dots bothered me!

They were supposed to fade away about a year later, but here I am, years later, still looking down at those little dots and thinking:

“I’m cancer-free… but I still have those dang tattoos.” 😂🎀

Looking back, though, I’m grateful for them. They’re a reminder of what I’ve been through, how far I’ve come, and most importantly — a reminder to keep up with my mammograms and preventative care.

Don’t wait until something is found. Take care of yourself. Make the appointment. Get the mammogram. 💗

Today, Ashley is cancer-free — and those three little tattoos are still here to remind her just how important that is.

Thank you to our very own Ashley Williams from our Billing Team for being willing to share her story with us. We are so grateful for your honesty, your humor, and your reminder that sometimes the smallest marks can carry the biggest stories. 🎀

💓 Thank You to Our OASIS Team

We want to take a moment to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to our OASIS team for the time, energy, and heart you have poured into Webster Urgent Care. 💓

You came alongside our clinics at a time when we wanted to refocus on what matters most — our people, our culture, and working together as one team.

Thank you for helping us strengthen communication, rebuild teamwork, encourage accountability, and remind us that every person and every role matters. The work you’ve done with our team has already made such a difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the encouragement, guidance, and hard work you’ve invested in us.

Building a strong culture doesn’t happen overnight, but we are proud of the direction we’re headed and excited about what’s ahead.

Thank you, OASIS, for helping bring our team back together and helping Webster Urgent Care continue becoming the kind of workplace — and the kind of healthcare team — we want to be. 💓

One team. One purpose. Exceptional care.

🌸 Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Honoring Frances Garnett 🌸
This month, we want to take a moment to honor a true miracle—Frances Garnett, a mother of five and a beautiful example of faith, strength, perseverance, and hope.
After losing her husband at age 73, Frances spent a year grieving and missed her annual checkups. When she finally returned for her mammogram at age 74, doctors found a lump and diagnosed her with breast cancer. Through multiple rounds of treatment and partial tissue removal, Frances fought courageously—and was eventually declared cancer free. 🎀
Frances went on to live a very, very long life after her breast cancer journey, surrounded by family and so much love. She passed away on Thanksgiving last year at the age of 99—but thankfully, it was not from breast cancer. 💗
When asked what advice she would give to others facing the same diagnosis, Frances shared:
“Pray and believe God will heal you, just like He healed me.”
Her story is a beautiful reminder to stay positive, keep hope, have faith, and never give up. Her breast cancer diagnosis was not the end of her story. She was given many, many more years to love, laugh, make memories, and enjoy her family. 💕
To anyone currently fighting breast cancer, we hope Frances’ journey reminds you that there can be so much life beyond a diagnosis. Keep believing, keep fighting, and never lose hope.
🎀 Early detection saves lives. Please schedule your recommended mammogram, pay attention to your health, and take care of yourself—not just this month, but every month.
From all of us at Webster Urgent Care, we honor every warrior, survivor, and family touched by breast cancer. And today, we especially honor Frances and the incredible life she lived. 💖
Stay positive. Have hope. Keep believing. 🌸
