💥Business Spotlight💥

Bella Salon & Spa has been in business for over 24 years! Located in Pineville (close to Carolina Place Mall).

Check it out! They do it all! They offer haircits, highlights, nails, waxing etc. Bella is an inspiration to me and once you know her story and how she became a business owner, you may feel the same.

I take any chance I get to recognize other businesses to support local business owners because I understand the hustle. Owning a business is not easy, as it's not linear. You have to be willing to push through the ups and downs.

Business owners show up for the community. We can tell our story to anyone who will listen, but once you live it, you can then truly understand and appreciate what we go through. 

We do hard things 💪🏽

If you have been following the high profile murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, you have watched how the legal system has picked apart her psychiatrist, Dr. Jennifer Tuft from many angles, including her documentation of Lindsay's treatment.

I am checking in on all therapists and rising therapists! Are you seeing this?

Of course this is not the first time a high profile case has gone after a medical/mental health provider. It is yet another reminder for the rest of us that any one of us could be in the steaming hot seat!!!

In my career, I have received a subpoena for court to help advocate for a client. It was a weird case with many gaps and the judge needed other professionals, including myself, to collaborate to fill those gaps and help determine the best living environment for the client.

Your documentation matters! And if you are the only source, your clinical documentation will depend on a lot, or else you will melt in that courtroom!

Last week we attended NAMI Open House and it was a success! We learned more about what they do and the services they offer to the community. It was great to see new and familiar faces!

Charlotte NAMI is doing great things and I am looking forward to see them continue to help our community within the mental health field.

Mother's with Power Networking Event- Charlotte

FUN networking opportunities don't come often. When they do, sign me up!

This event was such a unique opportunity to participate in a fashion show dedicated specifically to mothers and business owners.

It was truly empowering to share the runway with other Latina mothers and entrepreneurs who are making a significant impact in our community. We all work incredibly hard to be seen, showing up every day regardless of the challenges we face.

A special thank you to ✨️ .fashionandmodels ✨️ for organizing this event and for taking the time to teach, some of us newbies,  how to walk the runway in just a few hours. 😊

This event proved that networking can be both fun and meaningful.

This week's spotlight on another population we serve. Immigrants who migrate legally to the US are focused to work hard to be able to provide a better life for their families.

Some of these workers come alone, others come with their families. Either way, it's hard but they do what's necessary to provide. It's an honor to serve this population and thankful for this program for helping them get access to Mental health services.

2. Family separation
3. Change in Family dynamics
4. Work related stress
