Did you know July is Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness Month? About 1 in 700 babies is born with a cleft lip and/or cleft palate. These children often benefit from a team of specialists, including pediatric dentists, to support healthy growth, development, and confident smiles.

Sweet Summer Treats & Healthy Smiles☀️🦷

Our Waxhaw office took a fun trip to Waxhaw Creamery today for a well-deserved summer treat!

Summer is all about making sweet memories and yes, there’s absolutely room for ice cream as part of a healthy smile!

Here are a few ice cream do’s and don’ts to keep those smiles shining all season long:

✅ DO:
🍦 Enjoy treats in moderation.
💧 Drink water afterward to help rinse away sugar.
🦷 Wait about 30 minutes before brushing after a sweet treat to help protect your enamel.
🍽️ Enjoy ice cream with a meal instead of snacking on sweets throughout the day.

❌ DON’T:
🚫 Sip on sugary milkshakes or frozen drinks for long periods.
🚫 Snack on sugary treats all day.
🚫 Chew on ice—it can crack or chip teeth!
🚫 Skip your brushing and flossing routine.

A healthy smile doesn’t mean saying no to ice cream, it just means enjoying it the smart way✨
